I won't go into my feelings about that, and instead we'll focus on the fact that I finished 174 products over the last twelve months! Among those products include 9 cans of Batiste Dry Shampoo and 5 bottles of The Ordinary's 10% Niacinamide/1% Zinc Serum - my two most used products. During the month of December I finished 19 products, which is a fair bit more than average. Click through to read more about all of the products I used up in 2019. As always, links will be included where applicable and products I intend to repurchase (or already have) will be marked with an asterisk (*)</div><a name='more'></a><br /><b>The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors is a no frills moisturizer with a ton of skin supporting ingredients like ceramides, fatty acids, and hyaluronic acid - all presented in a pleasant whipped lotion. This fragrance free moisturizer had a great impact on my skin, and I plan to repurchase it shortly. Update: I did.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><b>Derma Energy A Happy Medium Moisturizer</b>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Derma Energy's A Happy Medium Moisturizer was surprisingly light and milky, in spite of it's name. This moisturizer was adequately hydrating and left my skin looking and feeling comfortable and dewy. I enjoyed my time with it, but I wouldn't repurchase.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/12/pixi-rose-cream-cleanser-review.html" target="_blank">Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser</a></b>*^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love creamy clay cleansers, as a whole, but I especially love Pixi's Rose Cream Cleanser. This cleanser's moussey texture, subtle rose scent, and gorgeous carnation pink packaging come together to create a really elegant cleansing experience for a reasonable price. I really miss this piece of my morning routine, and hope to repurchase it in the near future.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/12/palmers-dark-spot-corrector-fade-serum.html" target="_blank">Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector</a></b>*^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I went into using Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector with a grain of salt. The ingredients were very promising, but for some reason I don't associate Palmer's with making active skincare - moisturizers and lotions, sure, but serums? I just didn't put those two together - and I was wrong. This serum was so effective! This light, hydrating gel-cream serum reduced the appearance of my acne scaring by 40-50% over the six weeks I used it! I will absolutely buy a second bottle with the hopes of similar results. If light acne scaring is a concern for you, Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector is a must-try.<br /><br /><b>Hask Cucumber Aloe Water Shampoo+Conditioner</b><br />Hask is one of my favorite brands for shampoo and conditioner, and I intend to try all of their ranges with time. My most recent pick was the Cucumber Aloe Water shampoo and conditioner, and they were pretty good. I loved the light weight, decently sudsy (despite being SLS Free!) shampoo, and found the conditioner adequate enough. The scent was light and refreshing, and my hair was kept clean and soft. I don't think I'd buy them again, but they were both good while they lasted.<br /><br /><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Endless Weekend Shower Gel</b>*<br />Endless Weekend is one of my all time favorite scents by Bath&amp;BodyWorks. This fruity summer scent is deeply nostalgic for me - it smells like my first months living in Sydney. I was very sad to finish up this mini bottle, and intend to buy another one (hopefully full sized) during the Semi Annual Sale.<br /><br /><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Beach Fine Fragrance Mist</b><br />I gotta be honest, I mostly bought this body spray for the A E S T H E T I C. The tall shimmering bottle and aquamarine liquid were super appealing, and I liked the oceanic coconut-y scent well enough to justify it. Half way through the bottle I started to get tired of Beach, but once I reached the end I was sad to see this scent go. I wouldn't repurchase a Beach Fine Fragrance Mist, but I enjoyed using it.<br /><br /><b>Natio Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen</b>*<br />My old favorite sunscreen, <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/12/neutrogena-beach-defence-spf-50.html" target="_blank">Neutrogena Beach Defense</a>, started disagreeing with my skin last year, and I've been searching for a replacement since - and I think I've found one! Natio's Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen ticks all the boxes for me - it applies well and doesn't pill, I can't feel it on my skin, and most importantly, it keeps my skin safe. I haven't been sunburnt once since bringing this product into my routine. I've already repurchased - and in a larger size!<br /><br /><b>Maybelline FitMe Matte&amp;Poreless Foundation</b>*<br />This is my third bottle of Maybelline's FitMe Matte&amp;Poreless Foundation, and it's unlikely to be my last. This foundation is just good, you know? Light to medium buildable coverage in an easy to apply, fairly long wearing formula, and best of all shade 110 matches me pretty well most of the year. Unfortunately I can't find a match for my summer skin color, so I'm using a different Maybelline base at the moment, but once my tan fades I'll probably go back to FitMe Matte&amp;Poreless.<br /><br /><b>Sukin Pink Clay Face Masque</b>*<br />Sukin's Pink Clay Face Masque received a lot of attention when it was a brand new product mainly because it's pink. I liked this clay mask well enough - it was creamy and easy to apply, and it soaked up excess oil and grime without stripping the skin. Nothing wrong with it, but aside from being pink, it was pretty much identical to the two other Sukin clay masks I've used. I'll repurchase any of them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get Pink Clay specifically.<br /><br /><b>Avene PhysioLift Serum</b><br />I received a tiny 3ml (I think) sample of this serum in a giveaway and used it up over the course of about a week. I can't say if PhysioLift had any impact on my skin - we didn't have enough time together, but I liked how it felt. I wouldn't buy it again, as its pricey.<b><br /></b><br /><b>Batiste Wildflower Dry Shampoo</b>*<br />I like to try every new and limited edition scent Batiste puts out, and for the most part I like them, but Wildflower was not it for me. The floralness of this scent was just ever so slightly too much for me - it didn't smell bad, just overpoweringly flower-y. I can't say that I'm surprised, given the name and the lovely floral design of the can, but it just doesn't suit my vibe. I'll be sticking to other scents like Tempt, Eden, and Luxe.<br /><br /><b>Revolution Renaissance Flick Eyeliner</b><br />Emily Noel lied to me. I never thought the day would come, but it did. She did me wrong. Emily frequently touted Revolution's Renaissance Flick Eyeliner as easy to apply, and I couldn't disagree more. The solid felt tip was awkward to maneuver on my almond shaped eyes, and it dried out in a few spots, making application patchy enough to require multiple passes. The formula of this liquid liner failed me as well - it was more of a charcoal color than black, and faded even further throughout the day - sometimes my wing was just straight up gone for no apparent reason. Embarrassing.<br /><br /><b>Pixi Glow Mud Mask</b>^<br />Ever since it's release I'd heard that Pixi's Glow Mud Mask, a clay mask infused with glycolic acid, is an absolute powerhouse product - and while I liked it, I don't get the praise? Unfortunately, I found Glow Mud Mask to be fairly ordinary. The texture of this mask was a little thinner than most similar products, and it certainly sucked up excess oil, but nothing about it was striking. I liked it, but not enough to buy it again.<br /><br /><b><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B6nNjyPHbTR/" target="_blank">Best Face Forward Pimple Patches</a></b><br />Best Face Forward was offering free packets of their pimple patches, and as a recent convert to these magical little bandages, how could I resist ordering one? My packet of twelve multi sized patches arrived quite quickly, as did my disappointment. These pimple patches struggled to stick to my skin, and the ones that did had no noticeable effect. Compared to other pimple patches I've tried, Best Face Forward's were no good.<br /><b><br /></b><b>Lush Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb*</b><br />Shoot for the Stars is my favorite holiday bath bomb for a handful of reasons - the citrus scent is light and pleasant, the golden bath oil stars are deeply moisturizing, and the color is an unbelievable teal. I try to get Shoot for the Stars every year, so a repurchase is quite plausible.<br /><br /><span style="text-align: start;"><b>Napoleon Perdis Complex Skin Renewal Snake Serum^</b></span><br /><div style="text-align: center;">I tend to view Napoleon Perdis with a skeptical eye, and its because of products like the Complex Skin Renewal Snake Serum. The brand makes big claims about this supposedly potent serum, but a quick glance at the ingredient list will show you that it's barely more than a blend of water glycerin and alcohol, packaged in a tiny 10ml bottle that costs 2x as much. This is just silly.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Derma E Overnight Peel</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">As you can see, by it's outdated packaging, is product is old! Unfortunately I had to toss out the last third of the bottle, as it had gone well out of date. There was nothing wrong with this AHA laden serum, but for some reason I always pushed it to the back of my collection in favor of more 'exciting' products. Sorry Derma E's Overnight Peel, you didn't get the love you deserved.&nbsp;</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><b>What have you finished lately?</b></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a>-<a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a>-<a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a>-<a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a>-<a href="http://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as PR Samples</span></div></div></div></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/ylo9K_-q7Es" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2020/01/out-with-old-december-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-68985251487680617052019-12-23T19:37:00.001-05:002019-12-23T19:37:47.229-05:00Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KibzoSeVnvk/XgFYTX6guWI/AAAAAAAAa_4/Wf8wCgczshoyYjRN67tuKofQp-_Ptrj5wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/BQZI6843.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KibzoSeVnvk/XgFYTX6guWI/AAAAAAAAa_4/Wf8wCgczshoyYjRN67tuKofQp-_Ptrj5wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/BQZI6843.JPG" title="Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser" /></a></div><a href="https://pixibeauty.co.uk/" target="_blank">Pixi</a> says their Rose Cream Cleanser is a "<i>Nourishing cream cleanser with mineral rich mud cleanses skin as it helps strengthen &amp; soften skin</i>." This cleanser contains 135ml (4.5 oz) and sells for $18USD/£18GBP/$32AUD. Pixi products are cruelty free, and most, including the Rose Cream Cleanser are vegan friendly. This product was made in the USA.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Rose Cream Cleanser has beautiful (and functional!) packaging. This cleanser comes in a carnation pink squeeze tube with a spring green flip top cap. This pastel color combo gives off a really appealing vintage vibe! Product information and a full ingredient list are printed on the tube in reflective rose gold lettering. My only complaint is that this product's packaging doesn't seem to be recyclable.<br /><br />I love creamy clay cleansers, so I expected to love Pixi's Rose Cream Cleanser - and I do! This is a soft, airy, almost moussey beige cream that spreads beautifully. I use Rose Cream Cleanser as a morning and second cleanse (it's useless for makeup removal, as clay cleansers tend to be) by massaging it on to dry skin and wiping it away with a warm wet washcloth, followed by a quick splash for good measure. This cleanser doesn't foam or lather, though it does emulsify a touch when it comes in contact with water. Pixi's Rose Cream Cleanser is quite calming and softening, it's rare to find a cleanser that leaves my skin feeling as balanced as this one does.<br /><br />Pixi's Rose Cream Cleanser has a base of aloe juice, safflower oil, glycerin, and water, thickened up with three types of clarifying clay. Moisturizing avocado oil, squalane, and hyaluronic acid make appearances midway in the formulation. Multiple rose and rose adjacent extracts are strewn throughout the ingredient list. A handful of ingredients that I find (personally) undesirable - lemon, clove, and eucalyptus oils to specify - are included, but right at the very end of the ingredient list. Though artificial fragrance hasn't been added, this cleanser has a light, nuanced scent - it's a botanical rose fragrance with a mild earthy element.<br /><br />Though my review so far has been glowing, I do have one issue to note. My very first tube of Rose Cream Cleanser, which I purchased when the product was brand new nearly two years ago, had a bit of a contamination issue. I noticed one day, about four to six weeks after opening my tube, that there was a suspicious dark chunk in the dollop I squeezed out. Squeezing out more product, and eventually cutting the tube open, revealed several large chunks of greenish black mold. I contacted Pixi's customer service in regards to the issue, and they apologized and replaced my tube - the interaction was quick and courteous. I believe this to be an isolated incident - I haven't seen anyone else mention a mold issue with this or any other Pixi skincare product.<br /><br />Pixi's Rose Cream Cleanser is an all around lovely product - one of my favorite from the Skin Treats range. If you enjoy creamy clay cleansers like I do, this is definitely one to try! I've really missed this cleanser since finishing it earlier in the month, and I do hope to repurchase it in the near-ish future.<br /><br /><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Water/Aqua/Eau, Diatomaceous Earth/Solum Diatomeae/Terre de Diatomées, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Montmorillonite, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Squalane, Xanthan Gum, Kaolin, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Disodium EDTA, Rosa Gallica Flower Powder, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, CitrusLimon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens Leaf/Nut/Stem Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Mica, BHT,Linalool.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure<br />This product was sent to me for review. Infused with natural skin brighteners Vitamin C, Japanese Songyi Mushroom Extract and anti-ageing powerhouse Retinol to improve radiance and help minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Niacinamide targets dark spots and discolouration, Retinol improves fine lines and boosts collagen, and Vitamin C brightens complexion and evens skin tone.</i>" This skin tone correcting serum contains 30ml (1 fl oz) and retails for $24.99AUD. Palmer's does not test on animals. This product was made in the USA.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector comes in an ugly, clunky, opaque white plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. While it's very functional, the packaging has absolutely no <i>finesse</i> - a problem that really holds Palmer's back in the insta-age. Though it lacks Instagramability, the packaging is well labeled with clear directions and a considerate sunscreen advisory. Packaging is recyclable.<br /><br />Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector Fade Serum is interesting - it isn't quite what I was expecting, texture wise, and the results were so much better than I anticipated! This is a thicker, yet still light, gel cream style serum - it sinks in quickly and imparts a surprising amount of hydration along the way! I always take claims about "dark spot correction" with a grain of salt, but I'm pleased to say that Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector did have a visible impact on my PIH acne scars. Are they gone? No, but I'd say that they've reduced by half since using this tone correcting serum. My scarring has lightened to a point that light coverage bases can cover them - previously they peeked through light and even some medium coverage foundations. On top of the reduction in my acne scars, I also saw a general improvement in my skin tone - it was brighter, with reduced redness. All around, it made my skin look and feel better.<br /><br />The Dark Spot Corrector Fade Serum has an interesting and impactful ingredient list - especially for the price point. This serum has a water base, with a huge dose of niacinamide as a the second ingredient. Now yinz know by now that niacinamide is probably my favorite skincare ingredient for it's versatility and effectiveness - it does a little bit of everything - its anti aging, anti acne, it improves skin tone and strength. Basically, if a product has a good bit of niacinimade, I'm probably going to love it. Anyway, enough of my niacinamide stanning. Hydrating glycerin precedes a handful of texturizing ingredients and fragrance (which I could do without, but it does offer a pleasant neutral 'skincare' scent), before mushroom extract, hexylresorcinol (a hydroquinone alternative) and licorice extracts pair up with retinol and vitamin e to strengthen and condition the skin. Fruit derivatives, including lemon, orange, and blueberry extracts offer a bit more topical nourishment (though citrus ingredients can often do more harm than good). Two types of humectant sugar and aloe boost hydration, while radish root ferment provides an antimicrobal element. The remainder of the ingredient list is mainly comprised of texture enhancers, preservatives, and fragrancing ingredients.<br /><br />This serum was surprisingly good - I am thoroughly, thoroughly impressed! While its not a miracle product, Palmer's Dark Spot Corrector made a real difference in my skin's appearance. The acne scars that left me so self conscious have reduced to the point that I can feel confident in light coverage products again. If acne scaring or similar discoloration is one of your skin concerns, Palmer's Dar Spot Corrector could prove to be helpful. I will almost certainly repurchase!<br /><br /><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif;">-</span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/tutorialshaulsreviewsnat" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Facebook</a><span style="font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Water (Aqua), Niacinamide, Glycerin, Sodium Polycrylate, Trilaureth-4 Phosphate, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance (Parfum), Tricholoma Matsutake Extract, Hexylresorcinol, Retinol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (licorice) Root Extract, Citrus Limon (lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Citric Acid, Leuconostoc.Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Mica, Caramel, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Sulfite, Sodium Benzoate, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ethylhexylglycerin BHT, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Glycol,Phenoxyethanol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl lonone.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />This product was sent to me for review by Palmer's. This year went by fast, and some of my products went by even faster! I'm pleased to say that I finished every single product in my <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2018/12/products-ive-hit-pan-on-end-of-2018.html" target="_blank">2018 end year update</a>, and have made big progress on all the products included throughout the year. Click through to see my year end update on the Products I've Hit Pan On.<br /><b style="text-align: center;"></b><br /><a name='more'></a><b style="text-align: center;">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Anastasia Fresh Eyeshadow</b><br /><div style="text-align: center;">I've about doubled the visible pan on Anastasia's Fresh Eyeshadow, but it isn't quite as much progress as I expected - honestly I thought this matte cream shadow would've crumbled to dust by now, it's in quite a fragile state! I'd estimate this shadow to be half way done, and since it seems like it may shatter at any given time, I'm going to make a conscious effort to finish it before my first update of 2020.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Anastasia Twig Eyeshadow</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I haven't used Twig very often over the last three months, and it shows. Barely any more pan has been exposed. I really love the color of this matte taupe, but something about the way it blends irks me more and more. I hope to get more use from it in the coming months, but not really, if you feel me.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Anastasia Noir Eyeshadow</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">On the other hand. I've been getting a lot of use from Noir! I use this matte black to outline my liquid and gel liners, and then set it as well. Because I only use a tiny amount of product with each application, I expect this pan to grow slowly but steadily.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Speaking on eyeliner, I felt like it was time to include Maybelline's Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. Little hints at the bottom of the jar have been visible for some time now, and I even considered adding this product into my September update, but now it's undeniable - I've hit the bottom of this product, and then some! Remarkably, this gel liner is nowhere near drying out! I use this gel liner most days to line my inner rims, so consistent progress is expected.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>theBalm Balm Desert Blush</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Another product I reach for most days is theBalm's Balm Desert Blush. I've opened up a lot of pan on this rosy tan blusher over the last couple of months because I've fallen back in love with it as an all over eyeshadow. I love the monochromatic look of wearing this product as a combo blush bronzer and a one-and-done eyeshadow. Balm Desert is super pigmented and firmly pressed, so its a bit of a slow goer when it comes to showing pan, but I know it'll get a lot of use between now and March.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pixi Lid Loves Matte&amp;Metallics Palette</b>&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;">I picked this palette up at TKMaxx on a whim, and haven't looked back. I love this palette! Well, some of it. A lot of shades on the left side of the palette aren't really my aesthetic, but the bronzy and pink shimmers? Love. I've been reaching for the Lid Loves Matte&amp;Metallics Palette around 75% of the time I wear eyeshadow, and so far I've hit major pan on my favorite shade, a metallic tan. I just recently uncovered the slightest sliver of silver on the matte fawn shade, and I'm getting close on two others. I'm interested to see what progress will be made before my next update.</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div class="post-footer" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;"></div><br /><div class="post-body entry-content" id="post-body-4506217365012235047" itemprop="description articleBody" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px; orphans: 2; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; width: 740px; word-spacing: 0px;"><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><b style="font-weight: bold;">What products are you hitting pan on?</b></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="http://makeuptips.xyz.au/search/label/Products%20I%27ve%20Hit%20Pan%20On" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">click here to see all my panning posts</a></div><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a>-<a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a>-<a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a>-<a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a>-<a href="http://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div></div><div style="clear: both; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"></div></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/SU51vwxuSrQ" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/12/products-ive-hit-pan-on-december-2019.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-25809612822707358372019-12-02T05:00:00.000-05:002019-12-02T05:00:02.278-05:00Out with the Old - November 2019 Empties<div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AQB6utI1jjc/XeTW62IPYvI/AAAAAAAAa_A/SdY5VHFeBEMAARdfJWv4ZW-MNqmJtX1-wCEwYBhgL/s1600/NOJH5149.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1354" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AQB6utI1jjc/XeTW62IPYvI/AAAAAAAAa_A/SdY5VHFeBEMAARdfJWv4ZW-MNqmJtX1-wCEwYBhgL/s1600/NOJH5149.JPG" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: left;">November was a huge empties month for me. With a little help from Morgan, I used up 18 products. A dozen and a half - that's a fair bit, even for me! Last month's products are made up of a good mix of skincare, hair care, and makeup, with a little miscellany thrown in as well. As always, products I've already repurchased, or plan to, will be marked with an asterisk (*). Reviews are linked where applicable. Click through to read more about the products I finished in November.</div><a name='more'></a><br /><b>Spot Medic Pimple Patches</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">After trying <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/07/subi-beauty-perfect-pimple-patches.html" target="_blank">Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches</a>^ I became kinda addicted to pimple patches, and decided to give a few other brand's offerings a try. My next pick up was Spot Medic's Pimple Patches, which include 36 hydrocolloid patches in a couple different sizes. Spot Medic's patches were only alright - I found them to be equally effective to Subi Beauty's, but they didn't adhere as well to my skin, and I often had them come off over night. I don't think I'd repurchase these, but they aren't bad.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Graphite Shower Gel</b></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">This shower gel is one of a handful of Morgan's empties this month. Bath&amp;BodyWorks' Graphite fragrance is such a stereotypical "men's" scent - it's that woody, leathery scent that pretty much every brand produces. He liked it fine enough, but has moved on to a different scent.&nbsp;</div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2014/10/garnier-micellar-cleansing-water-review.html" target="_blank"><b>Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water has been a staple in my routine for half a decade now! This micellar water removes makeup so efficiently without stinging or burning my eyes. I no longer rely on it for full on makeup removal the way I used to, but I always keep a bottle on hand for touch ups or lazy nights that I can't manage my full routine. I've already repurchased, in the new 700ml size (which I expect will last the rest of my life).&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pur-Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher&nbsp;</b></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">I haven't tried much from Pur-Lisse, but what I have tried, I've quite liked! This thin yet deeply hydrating lip balm was an all around treat - the packaging is lovely and functional, the formula was comfortable and effective. I won't be repurchasing, as I don't tend to splurge on lip balms, but if you want to spoil yourself and your lips, Pur-Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher is one to put on your list.&nbsp;</div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2015/06/nars-rikugien-satin-lip-pencil.html" target="_blank"><b>NARS Rikugien Satin Lip Pencil</b></a>*</div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">I received this half sized NARS Rikugien Satin Lip Pencil as a Sephora birthday gift years and years ago, and I just now finished it. I got so much more use out of this rosy satin lip crayon that I would've expected. To be honest, I could probably get a few more uses out of it, but I no longer have a sharpener that suits it's awkward size, and at it's age, it should probably be in the bin. I have tons of lip products to use, but I would consider repurchasing Rikugien in the future, it's a great day-to-day shade.&nbsp;</div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Batiste Eden Dry Shampoo</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here it is, my monthly can of Batiste Dry Shampoo. This month's is the Eden scent in the jumbo sized can. Eden is a lovely sweet and light floral with equally pretty packaging. I'd definitely repurchase in the future, but for now I'm using a different scent of Batiste.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Avene Cleanance Expert Tinted Lotion</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This tiny tinted moisturizer came to me in a giveaway prize. I didn't expect to like Avene's Cleanance Expert Tinted Lotion, as it seemed far too dark for me, but it's so sheer that it worked out just fine. This tinted moisturizer offers next to no coverage with a natural dewy finish. I wouldn't purchase the full size - if I'm spending $25+, I want more coverage.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2018/10/lypsyl-intense-protection-lip-balm.html" target="_blank"><b>Lypsyl Intense Protection Lip Balm</b></a>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Lypsyl's Intense Protection Lip Balm is a simple lip balm that keeps my lips hydrated and soft. That' it, it just works. There's no shtick or pizzazz - its just a lip balm. Lypsyl doesn't seem to be available in Australia, so I won't be repurchasing.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Another sample from the giveaway mentioned above. Everything I've tried from Josie Maran (admittedly not much) has been great, and her Argan Cleansing Oil is no exception. This oil cleanser has a delightful plushness to it, and it removes makeup gently and effectively. I only got one use out of this sachet, so I can't say if I'd purchase the full size or not, but I did enjoy it.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/11/clemence-organics-ultimate-biome-spritz.html" target="_blank"><b>Clemence Organics Ultimate Biome Spritz</b></a>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love the idea of Clemence Organics' Ultimate Biome Spray. My skin's acid mantle is one of my main focuses (it's currently not in the best shape), and I'm very into trying products that are meant to support it. I don't feel like the Ultimate Biome Spritz had a big impact on my skin's health, but I did think it was a very nice hydrating mist. If eco-luxe or holistic beauty is up your alley this is a brand worth looking into.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2015/12/mac-half-n-half-lipstick-reviewswatches.html" target="_blank"><b>MAC Half n Half Lipstick</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">I am grieving. MAC's Half n Half and I have had a journey. I still look back on the day I got it fondly - I had three other shades in mind, but ended up settling on Half n Half with the help of the only MAC employee to ever be nice to me. My mother, at the time, said this pink tinged brown nude was the ugliest lipstick she'd ever seen. Then went on to compliment it every time I wore it. We had a really nice day that day - so on top of loving this lipstick for what it is, it also serves as a memory of a fun day out with my mum. I think I might keep this empty tube.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/12/pixi-rose-caviar-essence-review.html" target="_blank">Pixi Rose Caviar Essence</a></b>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pixi's Rose Caviar Essence was super underwhelming for me. This flower oil infused serum has been so hyped up on instagram and beauty blogs and I don't get it. Each application felt like a splash of water on the face - refreshing, but then, nothing. I saw zero benefits from using Rose Caviar Essence. I finished the tube, so as to not be wasteful, but I wouldn't repurchase or recommend it. Pixi rarely disappoints me, but it disappointed me here.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/12/neutrogena-beach-defence-spf-50.html" target="_blank"><b>Neutrogena Beach Defence Sunscreen</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Another Morgan empty. I loved Neutrogena's Beach Defence SPF 50 Sunscreen for like two years before my skin started to react badly to it. I've since moved on (for face SPF, for body I still use this), but Morgan still uses and loves it for his daily sunscreen. Another two bottles have already been purchased.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Sukin Oil Balancing Purifying Gel Cleanser</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">One more empty from Morgan - Sukin's Oil Balancing Purifying Gel Cleanser. This charcoal infused cleanser does a nice job of cutting through sunscreen, sweat, and sebum to keep his skin clear. He's already repurchased.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/03/current-candle-collection.html" target="_blank"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Pink Pineapple Candle</b></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Aesthetically, I loved Bath&amp;BodyWorks' Pink Pineapple candle - who can say no to that millenial pink jar? The scent, however, wasn't my favorite. To me, this candle smelled more like grapefruit than pineapple, but it doesn't really matter considering how poor it's scent throw was. I'll gladly keep the jar, but I wouldn't repurchase this candle.&nbsp;</div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Soap&amp;Glory Hand Food Hand Cream</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">I've gone through countless tubes of Soap&amp;Glory's Hand Food Hand Cream, and I don't intend to stop. I'm currently using a different hand cream, and while it's quite nice, it doesn't give me the same&nbsp;sensorial satisfaction that Hand Food does. I love the fragrance, the texture, the packaging, and the price. I'll certainly be picking up another tube in the future.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Daily Naturals Leave in Masque</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I received a couple samples of Daily Naturals' Leave in Masque and it is terrible. This masque absolutely fucked my hair. Though it seemed relatively light weight, and I avoided my roots during application, this leave in masque added so much weight to my hair, it took several washes for it to fully recover. Yes, it did deep condition, but at what cost? Stringy flat hair for days? Not for me. If you have very dry or damaged hair, this may be for you, but it was far too much for me.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Palmer's Natural Fusions Rose&amp;Coconut Body Lotion</b>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I absolutely blew through Palmer's Natural Fusions Rose&amp;Coconut Body Lotion! I can't remember the last time I emptied a full size body lotion so quickly?? Apart from the beautiful dark floral packaging, nothing about this lotion stood out to me - the scent was pleasant but kind of bland, the texture and moisturization were pretty average. I wouldn't personally repurchase this product, but it is nice enough.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:</span><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as press samples.</span></div></div></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/TFRgEsa57-8" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/12/out-with-old-november-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-80128133941521372462019-12-01T08:16:00.000-05:002019-12-01T08:16:59.411-05:00Pixi Rose Caviar Essence Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9V6p7p6nEdk/XeO5Fhj3XtI/AAAAAAAAa-0/vPGfgwpjFKYNTt-k_XDUkhsYqVyfgbl3QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/XEXW5509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pixi Rose Caviar Essence Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9V6p7p6nEdk/XeO5Fhj3XtI/AAAAAAAAa-0/vPGfgwpjFKYNTt-k_XDUkhsYqVyfgbl3QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/XEXW5509.JPG" title="Pixi Rose Caviar Essence" /></a></div><a href="https://pixibeauty.co.uk/" target="_blank">Pixi</a>&nbsp;says their Rose Caviar Essence is full of "<i>concentrated flower oils suspended in a weightless serum-essence melt onto skin. Delivers fresh botanicals to nourish and hydrate, restoring skin's brightness for immediate and long term radiance.</i>" This hydrating serum contains 45ml (1.52 fl oz) and retails for $38AUD/$24USD/£26. Pixi products are cruelty free. This product is made in Korea.<br /><br /><a name='more'></a>Pixi's Rose Caviar Essence comes housed in a translucent pink squeeze tube with a spring green twist off cap. The brand logo and product name are printed on the front of the tube in metallic rose gold lettering; directions for use are included on the opposite side. Packaging is pretty, functional, and recyclable - my only complaint is that the lettering rubs off quite quickly - a common issue within Pixi's range.<br /><br />I was super excited to give Pixi's Rose Caviar Essence a try - this hydrating serum is hyped to hell and back - but right off the bat I was completely underwhelmed. The Rose Caviar Essence is a thin clear gel with rosy red particles suspended in it - it's a fun presentation, I'm a sucker for serums with little floaty bits. But that's kinda where my positive impressions end. This serum is very lightweight and feels extremely wet - it's almost like splashing water onto your face - cool, wet, refreshing...and then nothing. No matter how quickly I applied a moisturizer or heavier hydrating product on top of Pixi's Rose Caviar Essence, it always felt like it evaporated right off. Even after using the entire tube, I can't pinpoint if this product did anything for me - I'm fairly certain that it yielded no results at all. If anything, Rose Caviar Essence added a negligible amount of hydration - not enough for me to see or feel an effect. Several times I applied it to just one half of my face, hoping to notice&nbsp;<i>something</i>, but I never did.<br /><br />&nbsp;Rose Caviar Essence contains a ton of plant oils and extracts mixed into a water and glycerin base. While some moisturizing oils like macadamia, soybean, jojoba, grapeseed, sunflower, and olive oil are included, a lot of the added extracts don't have many benefits beyond adding fragrance. Beragmot, ylang ylang, and geranium oils, which are commonly considered irritants, are some of the first botanicals on the ingredient list. Soothing ingredients like aloe and vitamin e are present lower down, closer to the texture enhancing and preservative ingredients. While no added fragrance is present in Rose Caviar Essence, the floral ingredients provide a lovely light rose scent.<br /><br />Pixi's Rose Caviar Essence is fun to use, pretty to look at, but nothing more - at least in my opinion. This hydrating serum had no noticeable impact on my skin (good or bad). I really don't understand how this serum has so many positive reviews - is it purely just the aesthetic appeal? It has to be. As a whole, I love Pixi products, but I can't help but feel like this product is just filler in their otherwise wonderful line of rose infused products. I would recommend&nbsp;<a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/neutrogena-hydro-boost-multi-vitamin.html" target="_blank">Neutrogena's HydroBoost Multi-Vitamin Booster</a>&nbsp;for a similar experience with superior results.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinenesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Adenosine, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Tromethamine, Chlorphenesin,1,2-Hexanediol, Iron Oxide (CI 77491).</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">This product was sent to me for review by Pixi. Kakadu plum and green tea extract protect the skin against oxidative stress and environmental pollutants. Probiotics improve the microbiome of the skin, strengthening the skin's protective barrier. The skin's integrity is further supported by the stimulation of collagen synthesis and the addition of hyaluronic acid to retain moisture. Organic rose hydrosol soothes inflammation, gently tightening pores and balancing pH levels, helping maintain the skin's delicate acid mantel and ultimate biome</i>.". This toning mist contains 50ml (1.69 fl oz) and retails for $39.95AUD on the brands website, and at a handful of spas and and boutiques. Clemence Organics products are cruelty free, vegan friendly, certified organic, and made in Australia.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />The Ultimate Biome Spritz comes to you in an aluminum bottle topped with a power spray nozzle that delivers a fine, refreshing mist. A simple label wraps around the bottle, offering a product description and directions for use - more extensive information can be found on the the product's box. Both exterior packaging and this product's bottle are recyclable.<br /><br />I love the idea of a biome-friendly mist, as maintaining my skin's barrier is increasingly important to me, so when Clemence Organics contacted me a few months ago, this product jumped out at me! While I'm not sure if it's been beneficial to my skin's biome, this skin-supporting mist has been quite enjoyable to use. The Ultimate Biome Spritz is very softening, and adds a nice dose of hydration into the skin, creating a fresh glow. If I'm feeling extra indulgent, I use this mist in conjunction with my <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/revlon-jade-stone-facial-roller-review.html" target="_blank">jade roller</a> to really press it into the skin. If I'm entirely honest, I haven't noticed any impact on my overall skin health while I've been using Clemence Organics' Ultimate Biome Spritz, but as long as it imparts moisture into the skin, I count it as a spritz doing it's job.<br /><br />Clemence Organics' Ultimate Biome Spritz has a relatively simple yet well thought out formula comprised of distilled rose water, glycerin, and green tea. Antioxidant rich kakadu plum extract and biome supporting radish root ferment add some botanical interest to this mist. Hyaluronic acid appears at the tail end of the ingredient list, along with lactic acid, which I assume serves a dual purpose of a pH balancer and preservative. The Ultimate Biome Spritz contains no added fragrance or colorants, but it does have a soft fruity, rosy scent.<br /><br />I enjoyed Clemence Organics' Ultimate Biome Spritz. I ended up using this mist up very quickly, as I'm quite generous with my facial sprays and the product's size doesn't really support my heavy handed habit. For that reason, I think this product is a little pricey, but it seems to be on par with other 'green'/'clean' beauty brands' mists. As a standalone product, I don't feel like the Ultimate Biome Spritz did much more than add an extra layer of hydration, but I personally don't expect more from a facial spray - any other effects, apparent or not, are just a bonus. If you want to support a small Aussie skincare brand, or if eco-luxe skincare if your jam, Clemence Organics are a brand checking out.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">rosa damascena p. miller (rose otto) flower distillate*, glycerine*, camellia sinensis leaf (green tea) extract*, terminalia ferdinandiana fruit (kakadu plum) extract*, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, sodium levulinate, sodium anisate, sodium hyaluronate, lactic acid *certified organic ingredient (87.21% certified organic ingredients, 100% natural ingredients)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />This product was sent to me for review by Clemence Organics. I don't think ever, in the many year history of my blog, have I posted two empties back to back with nothing in between. I have so many products that are half reviewed - extensive notes, maybe the post is half written and waiting on photos, or the photos were taken and I just haven't started writing. The desire to write stuff for the blog is there, but when I sit down to do I have very few words in mind. My empties feel like the only posts I can toss together because they require such little effort. I'm still toying with the idea of a re-brand, and I feel like that'll motivate me to work harder on the blog, but once again that's so much effort I just don't feel like I have the energy for. My goal in the upcoming month is to write one post a week, excluding my empties at the end of the month.<br /><br />Anyway, enough about my *feelings* and on to the sixteen products I finished in October! My empties this month feature a surprising amount of makeup and makeup-adjacent items, which is an interesting change. As always, products I plan to repurchase (or already have) are marked with an asterisk (*). This hair mask is softening and smells quite nice, but it doesn't seem to make a real impact on my hair. I split this packet with Morgan, who enjoyed it, but his hair is far shorter and less fussy than mine is. It's not bad, it just doesn't impress me.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2015/01/essence-black-is-back-colour-nail.html" target="_blank">Essence Black is Back Nail Polish</a>*</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I buy this black nail polish over and over again because it's dark, shiny, and most importantly, cheap. I don't get amazing wear from Essence's Black is Back polish, but at like $3, I'm not super fussed. My nails have been bare since running out of this polish - I generally only paint them black, and my local Priceline's Essence stand is picked to pieces, but once I can find Black is Back in stock I'm certain to repurchase.<b>&nbsp;</b></div><br /> <div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/10/the-ordinary-niacinamide-10zinc-1-serum.html" target="_blank"></a><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/10/the-ordinary-niacinamide-10zinc-1-serum.html" target="_blank"><b>The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide/1% Zinc Serum</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">The Ordinary's 10% Niacinamide/1% Zinc has been a staple in my routine for about two years now, with no end in sight. This serum has a huge impact on my skin - it keeps is clearer and calmer than almost any other product I've used. I'm currently using a different niacinamide heavy serum, which is also good, but not quite on The Ordinary's level. I'll be repurchasing this serum as long as they make it.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pixi Glow Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask</b>*^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Generally I don't like sheet masks - most of the time they're uncomfortable, inconvenient, and yield very few tangible results - but Pixi's Glow Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask is an exception! I love this mask! While I still find applying and wearing it cumbersome, this mask gives my skin an instant radiance boost! I'd definitely pick up a 3 pack of these to keep on hand for special occasions. I'd go as far as to say this is the second best sheet mask I've ever used (following <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2018/03/when-snow-magic-sheet-mask-review.html" target="_blank">When's Snow Magic mask</a>)&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2013/09/garnier-intensive-7-day-repairing.html" target="_blank">Garnier Intensive 7 Day Body Lotion</a></b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Garnier's Intensive 7 Day Body Lotion has been a favorite of mine for at least half a decade! This lotion is lightweight and sinks in quickly, yet it delivers so much moisture! What really draws me to this lotion is the value - you get 400ml for like $7AUD, and a single bottle lasts me around 3-4 months of regular use. I'm currently using a different body lotion, but I'll more than likely repurchase Garnier's option in the future.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/04/abnomoly-petrowhat-rio-guava-lip-balm.html" target="_blank">Abnomoly Rio Guava PetroWhat? Lip Balm</a></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I was never a huge fan of Abnomoly's guava flavored PetroWhat? Lip Balm. To me, this was nothing more than Deciem's failed attempt at a Glossier BalmDotCom copycat. In an effort to avoid waste, I tried to use this lip balm up anyway, and I got a fair way through it, before it went absolutely rancid. Seemingly overnight, the PetroWhat? balm changed from perfectly fine to one of the worst things I've ever tasted - the flavor changed from fruity and tart to soapy and vomit-y. Awful. I won't be repurchasing.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/05/pixi-makeup-fixing-mist-review.html" target="_blank">Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist</a></b>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I had a complicated relationship with Pixi's Makeup Fixing Mist. I loved the effect of this setting spray - it melded my makeup together beautifully, but the spray nozzle was annoying, to say the least. This mist could come out either in a lovely fine mist, or a shocking jet that defeated the purpose of the product. If Pixi improved the Makeup Fixing Mist's packaging, I would repurchase, but for now it's a pass for me.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/10/sukin-sensitive-facial-moisturizer.html" target="_blank">Sukin Sensitive Skin Moisturizer</a></b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">This is one of Morgan's empties, though it's also a product I stand by! Sukin's Sensitive Skin Moisturizer is just all around nice - it's formula is effective and inoffensive, and you get a lot of product for a very fair price. Between the two of us, we've used several bottles, and already have another one in rotation.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2014/01/urban-decay-original-primer-potion.html" target="_blank">Urban Decay Primer Potion</a></b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Urban Decay's Primer Potion is an iconic product - and for good reason - it just *works*. This primer keeps my eyeshadows and liners looking fresh and crease free in all but the worst weather. One travel sized tube lasts me the better part of the year, and comes at a nice even $20. This anti-acne serum has ruined my skin...and saved it. When I first received it a couple years ago (I know, I know) I used it as directed and ruined my moisture barrier - applying this serum all over twice a day will zap any moisture from your skin right quick. Used as a spot treatment, it was fantastic for healing zits quickly. I recently pulled it out to treat a few spots and had <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B39a0kGHQXu/" target="_blank">a horrific reaction</a> to it. The bottle is practically empty, and I don't want to risk another reaction, so I'm just gonna toss it.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B39a0kGHQXu/" target="_blank">Palmer's Coconut Charcoal Detoxifying Sheet Mask</a></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Once again, I'm far from a sheet mask fanatic, but I though Palmer's Coconut Charcoal Detoxifying Mask was alright. Not good or bad, but nice enough. I don't feel like it did anything in terms of 'detoxifying", but it left my skin soft and smooth, so I can't complain I guess.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2016/06/essence-blondy-brows-make-me-brow-brow.html" target="_blank">Essence Make Me Brow Brow Gel</a></b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Essence's Make Me Brow is another long term favorite. I use this tinted brow gel just about every time I wear makeup for an effortless but groomed brow look. Despite me using it approximately four days a week, one tube lasts me nearly a year! I just picked up a new tube a few days ago.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Mecca Cosmetica Lit From Within Illuminating Balm</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Mecca Cosmetic's Lit From Within Illuminating Balm was a surprise hit for me! I received this as my Beauty Loop birthday gift last year, and didn't really think I'd like it. Turns out, I loved it to the last drop - seriously, my jar is scraped clean. This highlighting cream created a beautiful, natural sheen and was so easy to blend. I only finished it a few days ago and I already miss it. I have two highlighters to finish up first, but I think I may repurchase it if the price is fair - I should probably look into that.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Go-To Face Hero Face Oil</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Go-To is a brand that really appeals to me, for aesthetic reasons. It's kinda Australia's take on Glossier, in my mind at least. I really want to try their products, but they're pricier than they should be, and I don't wanna put that money in Zoe Foster Blake's hands (she rubs me the wrong way, to say the least). I received this little sample of the Face Hero Face Oil in a recent giveaway and I felt pretty 'eh' about it. It was fine - it smelled a lot like <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2018/05/sample-say-so-eve-lom-cleanser-review.html" target="_blank">Eve Lom's Cleansing Balm</a>, and it was comfortable and moisturizing, but nothing to write home about.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bourjois Healthy Mix BB Cream</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">I bought this Bourjois Healthy Mix BB Cream on a whim many months back, and I really learned to love it over time. This BB Cream has a comfortable feeling, easily blended formula that offers light coverage with healthy sheen. Wear isn't amazing - it definitely breaks down after six or so hours, but that's standard BB Cream behavior in my experience. I will probably buy it again next time Bourjois goes on a good deal.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Toning Solution</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">It took me a year and a half, but I finally finished The Ordinary's 7% Glycolic Toning Solution. This acid toner is great - it's quite similar to Pixi's Glow Tonic, but one step up in strength. The price is perfect, especially for the massive 240ml you get. I have a few acid exfoliators to work through, but I do plan on buying the 7% Glycolic Toning Solution again. Good stuff.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><b>What products did you finish in October?</b></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><br style="text-align: start;" /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as press samples</span></div><br /><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/RGMfSoyJJeQ" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/10/out-with-old-october-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-89548560593137350522019-09-27T03:35:00.000-04:002019-09-27T03:35:52.288-04:00Out with the Old - September 2019 Empties<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TkQ4yBVHL4I/XY2qsrzFNLI/AAAAAAAAa9Q/5d6hDgEJWWcX6VwD3aGIOsxdSkK9A5umwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/UVFH0168.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1300" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TkQ4yBVHL4I/XY2qsrzFNLI/AAAAAAAAa9Q/5d6hDgEJWWcX6VwD3aGIOsxdSkK9A5umwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/UVFH0168.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">September has been a pretty good empties month for me! This month I finished 14 products, in a pretty balanced mix of skincare, hair care, and makeup. As always, products I've repurchased, or intend to, are marked with an asterisk (*) and links to reviews are included where applicable. Click through to read about the products I finished throughout September.</div><a name='more'></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation 110*</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This was my second bottle of Fit Me Matte+Poreless, and I don't think it'll be my last. I always forget how good this foundation is! Coverage is light to medium, buildable, and matte without being mask-like. I actually have a full review of this foundation waiting to go (I wrote it when I used up my first bottle in 2017, yikes!) that I keep forgetting to take photos for. While I find 110 to be a pretty good match, the shade range was expanded, and I'm going to swatch around and see if there's an even better match for me in the range.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/indeed-labs-bakuchiol-reface-pads-review.html" target="_blank">Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads</a></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I've heard so much about bakuchiol lately - this trendy new(ish) ingredient is said to be a gentler alternative to retinol. Now that I'm in my later 20's, I felt like it was time to incorporate this sort of product into my routine - but Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads weren't the right fit for me. I didn't see a lot of results from using these anti-aging toner pads, and I actually found them a little bit sensitizing. I'm still interested in adding a bakuchiol product into my routine, but I won't be repurchasing these.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/neutrogena-hydro-boost-multi-vitamin.html" target="_blank">Neutrogena Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster</a></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster was a delightful hydrating serum! This aesthetically pleasing serum added a nice amount of hydration to the skin, along with a decently sized dose of one of my favorite ingredients, niacinamide. I don't intend on repurchasing this product any time soon, but now that I've moved on to a very similar but less effective (and more expensive!) product, I definitely have a greater appreciation for the Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Andalou Naturals Citrus Kombucha Cleansing Gel</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This cleanser mainly belonged to Morgan, though I did steal a bit here and there if I cleansed in the shower, and we both agreed that it wasn't great. Andalou Naturals' Citrus Kombucha Cleansing Gel was a pretty standard cleanser that foamed up into a light, easily rinsed lather. This cleanser left both of our complexions feeling stripped and thirsty. The obnoxious soapy citrus scent was the icing on the cake when it came to this unpleasant cleansing experience (though the broken pump was an interesting touch). This is only the second product I've tried from Andalou Naturals, and if I'm honest it's soured me on the brand a bit. I'm going to give them another shot - but I'll probably avoid the Citrus Kombucha range.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: 700;"><br /></span></div><div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: center;"><b>Natures Organics Fruits Apple Fresh Conditioner*</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Another empty from Morgan - his beloved Natures Organics Fruits Apple Fresh Conditioner. Morgan swears by this ultra affordable hair care line. I'm pretty sure he hasn't used anything else in at least five years.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">My relationship with Rimmel's Match Perfection Foundation is complicated. This is at least my fifth bottle over the years, and it probably won't be my last. But that doesn't mean I like it. This foundation is quite affordable, and offers me a great shade match in a lightweight, dewy formula. My complaint is that wear time sucks. I can see my acne scars coming back through after just two or three hours of wearing this foundation. I'll likely buy it again when I'm in need of a foundation and it's the only one on offer, but its not a true favorite.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Batiste Tempt Dry Shampoo*</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here it is, my monthly can of Batiste Dry Shampoo, this time in the new limited edition Tempt scent. Tempt is described as "edgy and romantic", its a musky, sweet floral that smells quite nice - but not too different from other Batiste scents. I love the dark floral design of the bottle. I would probably buy this scent again, but for now I'm back to using Eden.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B2gvpQ_n_Sa/" target="_blank">Palmer's Natural Fusions Chia Seed + Argan Oil Hair Mask</a>^</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Palmer's kindly gifted me a selection of their hair masks, and the Natural Fusions Chia Seed+Argan Oil Hair Mask is the first one I tried. Honestly, I didn't feel like this mask did more for me than a standard application of conditioner would - it felt very average. I have a few more sachets left to try, and maybe my opinion will change with time, but currently I'm not very impressed. I will say that I love the aesthetic of the Natural Fusions line.&nbsp;</div><br /> <div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: center;"><b>NYX Epic Ink Liner*</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">A declutter I'm not at all happy about. I've seen so many people rave about NYX Epic Ink Liner, so I picked it up a few months ago. I totally got all the hype - the brush tip applicator was easy to work with, the liner was pigmented and long wearing, and the value is incredible (you get double the amount of product for a comparable price to other drugstore liner pens). The brush tip began to fray badly after just a few weeks, and its now become unusable without pulling another brush into the mix. There was plenty of product left in my pen, until recently, when it randomly exploded all over me and my white tile floor. Luckily it's not waterproof so cleanup was a cinch. Despite the issues, I'm tempted to repurchase Epic Ink to see if I had a faulty one.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Pretty as a Peach Shower Gel</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pretty as a Peach was such a hyped up scent when Bath&amp;BodyWorks released it last year, and I get the hype! This peach fragrance was bright and sweet, yet realistic - it definitely retained that slightly tart aspect that you'd smell in a real piece of fruit. And the labeling? Too cute. If I can find another bottle of Pretty as a Peach Shower Gel in the next Semi Annual Sale, I would more than likely repurchase!&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo+Conditioner</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I kinda have a story about OGX' Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo+Conditioner. I remember seeing this shampoo and conditioner set on the shelves as a little child, and always being enticed by it's beautiful blue color, yet for some reason I never tried them until now. I've tried a fair share of OGX products, including two products from the Argan Oil of Morocco range that I loved - so I finally took the plunge and tried the coordinating shampoo and conditioner. And I hated them! These were awful for my hair. In the two months it took me to finish up these items, my hair was both dried out and greasy as fuck. The thick, difficult to lather consistency of the shampoo was unpleasant to use, though I have no real qualms with the conditioner. I definitely won't repurchase this shampoo and conditioner in particular, but I'm not soured on OGX as a whole - they have a lot of great products. These just weren't for me.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2015/05/covergirl-super-sizer-by-lash-blast.html" target="_blank">Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara</a></b>*^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I've finished up another tube of my go-to Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and I've already bought another. I love the big lashes I can easily create with this mascara, and the wear is super dependable. I'll repurchase it over and over.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/yes-to-cucumbers-exfoliating-cleansing.html" target="_blank"><b>Yes To Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleansing Balm</b></a>&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;">This drugstore cleansing balm was adequate, in my opinion. Yes to Cucumbers' Exfoliating Cleansing Balm did a generally good job at removing makeup, and didn't cause my skin any issues, but I always felt so uncomfortable using it. I hated the inclusion of wax exfoliating beads, which 1) didn't exfoliate or serve a real purpose, and 2) were a complete eye safety hazard. Had these scrubby bits not been included, I would've been a fan of this makeup removing balm, but as it is, I'm glad to be done with it.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><b>What products did you finish in September?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; text-align: start;" /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as press samples</span></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/ampP7JkfXeA" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/out-with-old-september-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-59586268748104716662019-09-11T05:43:00.000-04:002019-09-11T05:43:17.004-04:00Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WoLPQVvzx20/XXjAZ7uATnI/AAAAAAAAa88/ZqrpLksDXig0vZ_Wag5GWmDiINabIpZVACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/DHYS1913.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads Review " border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WoLPQVvzx20/XXjAZ7uATnI/AAAAAAAAa88/ZqrpLksDXig0vZ_Wag5GWmDiINabIpZVACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/DHYS1913.JPG" title="Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads" /></a></div><a href="https://www.indeedlabs.com.au/" target="_blank">Indeed Labs</a> says "<i>These pads work to gently promote clear and even skin. Formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture all while protecting against moisture loss</i>." The Bakuchiol Reface Pads come in a pack of 30 pre-soaked pads and retail for $44.95AUD ($19.99USD/£19.99GBP). Indeed Labs is cruelty free, with this particular product being vegan friendly. The Bakuchiol Reface Pads are made in the UK.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads come in a white plastic tub with a flip top lip. Directions and a full ingredient list are available on the back of the tub on a series of peel off labels. I dislike this product's packaging for two reasons. First of all, it looks and feels quite cheap. Second off, it doesn't keep the pads moist. These toner pads dried out partially, despite being sure that the lid was always firmly shut. I came to realize that the lid was warping and had several micro-cracks, compromising the moisture level and efficacy of the formula. I'd recommend keeping the foil seal partially intact to keep more moisture in. This product's packing is recyclable (check the bottom for the tiny turtle that keeps the recycle symbol company!).<br /><br />I've reached my late 20's, so I'm heading towards the retinol years. I'm not sure if I <i>need</i> retinol in my routine quite yet - I mean sure, prevention is key, but aside from a few fine lines on my forehead that show up when I'm dehydrated, I don't really have any 'signs of aging' yet. Either way, I've been interested in trying a retinol product - but I'm afraid of them! My skin has been so problematic over the last year and a half, I'm afraid that introducing retinol will&nbsp; (temporarily) fuck my face up - even if it'll help in the long run, the peeling and purging just doesn't appeal to me right now. When I heard both <a href="https://www.carolinehirons.com/" target="_blank">Caroline Hirons</a> and <a href="https://www.amodelrecommends.com/" target="_blank">Ruth Crilly</a> recommend Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads, I became intrigued - a retinol <i>alternative</i> seemed like a good place to start my anti-aging journey!<br /><br />Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads are soft, textured presoaked discs (59mm diameter) that started off nicely saturated (but, as I mentioned, they became quite a bit drier over time). These treatment pads are meant to be swiped over the skin morning and night after cleansing, but I personally found that to be far too much for my skin. I used one pad every 36 hours - any more than that and my skin became quite sensitized and fussy. The Bakuchiol Reface Pads felt a bit like Pop Rocks on my face - they created a slight fizzy tingle on the skin for about half a minute after application. The sensation is painless - there's no burning or itching - it's just a bit bubbly. I then wait 5-10 minutes before applying my next step in my routine, just to let the actives get to work uninterrupted.<br /><br />After using up the whole tub of Bakuchiol Reface Pads over the course of two months, I don't feel like I've seen a marked improvement in fine lines, acne scarring, pore size, or any other issues this retinol alternative is meant to improve. My forehead fine lines have been slightly reduced - but only slightly. If anything, I'd say the main change is that my skin is a little redder and maybe a bit more sensitive.<br /><br />Before we delve into these toner pads' full ingredient list, I feel like it's important to chat about what bakuchiol <i>is</i>. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakuchiol" target="_blank">Bakuchiol</a> is a derivative of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psoralea_corylifolia" target="_blank">Babchi plant</a>. Bakuchiol is commonly stated to be a gentler, less sensitizing alternative to retinol. This antioxidant rich botanical extract supposedly stimulates collagen production and cell turnover, processes which reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and skin texture. Bakuchiol also has slight anti-bacterial properties, giving it the ability to help prevent breakouts. Really, this is the kind of ingredient that seems like it can do a bit of everything. There isn't a ton of research out there that backs up all of these big claims, but the information that is available trends mostly positive (with some skeptical studies out there too).<br /><br />Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads have comprised of water, niacinamide (one of my favorite skincare ingredients for it's multiple benefits!), gentle surfactants, and the star of the show, bakuchiol. Following the preservative system is allantoin, a soothing and conditioning ingredient. The remainder of the ingredient list a blend of surfactants, preservatives, and&nbsp;stabilizers. These pads are alcohol and fragrance free.<br /><br />While I'm not put off bakuchiol as a whole, I don't feel like Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads are for me. I didn't find them particularly effective, and actually found them to be vaguely irritating to my skin. If you're quite curious about trying this trendy retinol alternative ingredient, these pads are one of the most affordable options out there. I won't personally be repurchasing them, but I'm glad I tried them out. I think my next move is to try another bakuchiol product (not sure which one yet) before upgrading to baby's first retinol.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Aqua (water), niacinamide, caprylyl/capryl glucoside, bakuchiol, hydroxyacetophenone, phenoxyethanol, allantoin, heptyl glucoside, sodium benzoate, sodium cocoyl glutamate, ethylhexylglycerin, citric acid, glyceryl caprylate, polyglyceryl-6 oleate, disodium edta, sodium hydroxide, sodium surfactin, heptanol</div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/uRg1X06P8oQ" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/indeed-labs-bakuchiol-reface-pads-review.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-10958806745567057512019-09-03T09:27:00.000-04:002019-09-03T09:27:45.520-04:00Products I've Hit Pan On - September 2019 Update<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NieCOIL7cjU/XW5pAAjiKRI/AAAAAAAAa8w/fcd08njSW9AE-QQcQzbQheMceYiRBR4-ACLcBGAs/s1600/CKFV0649.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1371" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NieCOIL7cjU/XW5pAAjiKRI/AAAAAAAAa8w/fcd08njSW9AE-QQcQzbQheMceYiRBR4-ACLcBGAs/s1600/CKFV0649.JPG" /></a></div>September's Products I've Hit Pan On Update is already here! Over the last three months I've made good progress on three of the four previously panned products, and have added two more into the mix. I'm not sure if there will be any new pans in the final three months of 2019, but for now, take a peek at my updates on the Products I've Hit Pan On.<br /><a name='more'></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2016/10/essance-taupe-secret-almost-peachy.html." target="_blank"><b>Essence Almost Peachy Eyeshadow</b></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I haven't touched this shadow even once since my June update - no progress to report here. I'm probably going to declutter Almost Peachy, if I'm honest.</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>theBalm Balm Desert Blush</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Though it doesn't look like I've made much progress on my Balm Desert Blush, I have opened the pan up a little bit. I use this blush most days, but its so pigmented that I barely need to tap my brush into it to pick up more than enough product, hence the slow going. Frankly, I think I'm going to have this rosy brown blush for the rest of my life (or at least the rest of my twenties) and that's fine by me.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Anastasia Beverly Hills Fresh Eyeshadow</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I put a good dent into Fresh over the last three months. I use this matte cream shadow pretty much every time I use my Sultry palette, so progress is remaining consistent. I've hit the edge of the pan on the top of the shadow and have noticed some crumbling starting to occur. Will Fresh last until my end of the year update? It remains to be seen.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Anastasia Beverly Hills Twig Eyeshadow</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I think I've about doubled the amount of visible pan on Twig in the last quarter. I don't use this matte tan shade quite as regularly as I do Fresh, but it works its way into most of my Sultry palette looks, so once again it gets pretty consistent use. I don't expect to finish Twig in the coming months, but I think a lot of progress will be made.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Anastasia Beverly Hills Noir Eyeshadow</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Noir is my most recent pan, I started seeing a little sliver of silver at the bottom just a few days ago. I use Noir almost every day to lay down a guide for my liquid liner, so I expect lots of progress over the next few months. I only use a tiny bit of this shadow each day, but clearly it's been adding up!&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Mecca Cosmetica Enlightened Lit From Within Illuminating Balm</b>&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;">I was so close to hitting the bottom of this cream highlighter's jar when I made my last Products I've Hit Pan On post, and now it's half way used up! Mecca Cosmetica's Illuminating Balm has been my go-to highlighter lately, so I expect it to be gone by December (or sooner!).</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/449S4u2jdIw" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/products-ive-hit-pan-on-september-2019.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-22885073439664326902019-09-01T00:52:00.000-04:002019-09-01T00:52:09.563-04:00Neutrogena Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oRcNAE4eDec/XWtNL_c0deI/AAAAAAAAa8k/7BGR7Dyc06IoSdPJcMXFukuOR5w14vaWwCLcBGAs/s1600/CIXD0015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Neutrogena Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oRcNAE4eDec/XWtNL_c0deI/AAAAAAAAa8k/7BGR7Dyc06IoSdPJcMXFukuOR5w14vaWwCLcBGAs/s1600/CIXD0015.JPG" title="Neutrogena Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster" /></a></div><a href="https://www.neutrogena.com/" target="_blank">Neutrogena</a> says "<i>this serum instantly quenches dry skin, repairs the skin’s moisture barrier and protects against reoccurring dryness. The pearl serum contains purified Hyaluronic Acid which acts as a self-hydrating system for your skin. That’s because it holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, replenishing moisture throughout the day for 24 hour hydration. The Anti-oxidant capsules powercharge the serum with Vitamin E when the pump is pressed, to energise and boost the look of dull skin.</i>" The Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster contains 30ml (1 fl oz) and retails for $29.99AUD ($19.99USD). Neutrogena is not cruelty free. This hydrating serum was made in South Korea.<br /><br /><a name='more'></a>Neutrogena's Hydro-Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster completely drew me in with it's aquatic aesthetic. The translucent blue bottle showcases floating bubbles of encapsulated ingredients that burst as the leave the silver pump. Fun and functional, but unfortunately it seems like it isn't recyclable.<br /><br />The Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster dispenses as a clear gel with white speckling from the burst bubbles. Generally I apply two to two and a half pumps of this serum when using as a standalone product, but I've also occasionally mixed a pump into my moisturizer for an extra boost of hydration. This hydrating serum is practically weightless and sinks right in, with no tacky feeling left behind. Used alone or as a mix-in, the Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booter is nicely hydrating and leaves my skin feeling fresh, comfortable, and soft. This serum hasn't had much of an visible impact on my skin, but it's one of those products that definitely makes a difference in how it feels.<br /><br />Neutrogen'a Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster is made of a mix of hydrating ingredients like water, glycerin, and glycols, with a big dose of niacinamide (an ingredient I love, and the real reason I bought it, aside from the bubbly vibes). Beyond the preservative phenoxyethanol are small amounts of skin conditioning ingredients like arginine, carrageenan, and Vitamins E and B5. To be honest, I'm surprised to see the star ingredient of the Hydro Boost line, Hyaluronic Acid, in the middle of the ingredient list as opposed to closer to the beginning, but this water retaining wonder ingredient's effects can be felt, even if it's present in &gt;1%. My only complaint about this hydrating serum's formula is that it's quite heavily fragranced. The scent is clean and pleasant, but unnecessary and almost overpowering.<br /><br />Overall I'm quite pleased with Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster! I'm not sure if I'll repurchase it in the future, as I don't tend to be loyal to hydrating serums, but I enjoyed using it for sure! I went through this serum quicker than I would've liked, but to be fair I was using it twice a day and sharing it with Morgan, who used it one time and immediately became hooked! This serum runs a little pricey for the drugstore, but if you can grab it on a sale, it's a novel yet effective product!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Phenoxyethanol, Butylene Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chondrus Crispus Powder, 1,2-Hexanediol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Agar, Gellan Gum, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Algin, Sucrose, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Arginine, PCA, Serine, Alanine, Citric Acid, Threonine, Mourera Fluviatilis Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Mica</div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/OK2WBJ2WuYU" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/09/neutrogena-hydro-boost-multi-vitamin.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-4202356820225447502019-08-27T01:01:00.001-04:002019-08-27T01:01:43.011-04:00Out with the Old - August 2019 Empties<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nEFMPaZe9vo/XWS1hzvJ6nI/AAAAAAAAa8Y/MTekDJuycGYBWsyZjb07Ag_-tEBsPQT6QCLcBGAs/s1600/TMNI1168.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nEFMPaZe9vo/XWS1hzvJ6nI/AAAAAAAAa8Y/MTekDJuycGYBWsyZjb07Ag_-tEBsPQT6QCLcBGAs/s1600/TMNI1168.JPG" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">August wasn't my most fruitful month for empties. Over the course of the month I only used up 10 products, and most of them were basics like shower gel and hair care, with a few skincare bits mixed in. As per usual, products I plan to repurchase, or already had a backup of, are marked with an asterisk (*). Click through to read about my August emtpies!&nbsp;</div><a name='more'></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Endless Weekend Shower Gel*</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Endless Weekend is the scent of my first year in Sydney. It was the shower gel I brought with me when I moved here, and it evokes a lot of memories of warm weather, good water pressure, and feeling freer than I ever had in my life. I know it sounds dramatic, but I have a very strong scent memory - and the ability to have a nice shower in peace is an incredible feeling when you're not used to it. I adore this warm berry scent. I have a second bottle, which I'm saving for warmer months. I'll always have a soft spot for Endless Weekend.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Coconut Mint Drop Shower Gel</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This empty comes from Morgan. He loves his Coconut Mint Drop Shower Gel. He found it sweet and refreshing, and I have to say the scent really suited him. He's since moved on to another Bath&amp;BodyWorks shower gel, but would repurchase this limited edition scent if it was still available.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Batiste Cherry+Tropical Dry Shampoos</b>*^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I finished TWO cans of Batiste this month! A regular sized can of my old favorite Cherry scent, and the tiny can of Tropical that I keep in my backpack. Both of these dry shampoos are great, and I've repurchased two regular cans and another little one during a recent sale. A forever favorite.</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/07/hylamide-sub-q-mist-review.html" target="_blank">Hylamide Hydra-Density Mist</a></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">So many people love Hylamide's Hydra-Density Mist...and I don't get it. This mist was alright, there was nothing actively wrong with it, but I also didn't feel like it did anything significant. Hydra-Density, or Sub-Q as it's now called, does hydrate the skin to an extent, but I feel like there's better products out there.</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/pixi-phenomenal-gel-review.html" target="_blank"><b>Pixi pHenomenal Gel</b></a>*^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pixi's pHenomenal Gel isn't quite phenomenal, but I do really like it! This gel moisturizer is wonderful for repairing and maintaining your skin's moisture barrier. pHenomenal Gel is nicely hydrating, and imparts a lovely dewiness into the skin. I'm not repurchasing this moisturizer right away, but I think I'm gonna grab another tube when the weather warms up!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Head&amp;Shoulders Smooth and Silky Shampoo+Conditioner</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">The Head&amp;Shoulder's Smooth and Silky Shampoo saved my skin earlier in the year. That's right, my skin! This shampoo, when used as a mask, helped control and clear up my fungal acne when it was at it's worse. Once my fungal acne cleared up, I decided to finish it off (and the coordinating conditioner) on my hair...and I didn't like them! The shampoo dried my hair out, and the conditioner did nothing for me, despite it's rich texture. I wouldn't repurchase these as hair care products, but if fungal acne ever rears it's ugly head again, I'll go running back to Head&amp;Shoulders' for help.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>LeTan Liquid Sun Custom Tanning Drops</b>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">A declutter, rather than a true empty, LeTan sent me this product a two years ago and I barely touched it. Tanning isn't really my thing, but I decided to give these mix-in tanning drops a try anyway, with underwhelming results. If I would desire a tan, I'd want it to be natural, but the Liquid Sun drops were too natural - it took nearly a week for them to have any visible impact on my skin - and I'm pale as fuck. I can't imagine how long it would take for these to be visible on someone with skin any darker than mine. These drops have since been rebranded, and maybe reformulated, so perhaps they're better, but I wasn't impressed.</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Lush Black Rose Bath Bomb</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">I picked up Lush's Black Rose Bath Bomb on a whim a few weeks ago. This pretty bath bomb smelled like Lush's iconic Rose Jam fragrance, and colored my bath water an opaque, glittering black hue. I've seen a lot of complaints that this bath bomb stains skin and tubs alike, but I didn't experience any staining on my fair skin, or my white tub (though I did clean it immediately after getting out). Overall, I found Black Rose enjoyable, and I'd buy it again if I was in the mood for a spooky, floral scented bath.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>What products did you finish in August?</b></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as press samples</span></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/nXNAGD0gopw" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/out-with-old-august-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-39928962537549589632019-08-19T00:19:00.000-04:002019-08-19T00:19:51.113-04:00Revlon Jade Stone Facial Roller Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jiJA-X4fcM4/XVfBy5bFGFI/AAAAAAAAa74/XlrI2pLBuhgEF-CODd2nEPzAz6YJkl4CgCLcBGAs/s1600/IFWQ4124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Revlon Jade Stone Facial Roller Review" border="0" data-original-height="1354" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jiJA-X4fcM4/XVfBy5bFGFI/AAAAAAAAa74/XlrI2pLBuhgEF-CODd2nEPzAz6YJkl4CgCLcBGAs/s1600/IFWQ4124.JPG" title="Revlon Jade Stone Facial Roller " /></a></div><a href="http://www.revlon.com/" target="_blank">Revlon</a> says "<i>Made from real jade, this facial roller glides over skin, diminishing puffiness and boosting circulation for a brighter, smoothing effect</i>." I finally jumped on the jade roller trend - I was holding out for an affordable option because I feel like they're complete gimmicks - but hey, I like the aesthetic. Revlon's new Jade Stone Facial Roller is the first jade roller to hit the drugstore, and it retails for $15AUD ($10 USD). Revlon is not cruelty free. This facial roller was made in China.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Revlon's Jade Stone Facial Roller is pretty standard in design - two rounded stones, attached to a long, thin handle. The Revlon logo previously adorned the handle in white lettering, but it rubbed off with minimal use! Revlon claims that this roller is made with real natural jade, but<a href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&amp;source=images&amp;cd=&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjh0szqzPfjAhUS4HMBHbfvDe4QjRx6BAgBEAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fmemegenerator.net%2Finstance%2F67113862%2Fdorthy-magic-school-bus-according-to-my-research&amp;psig=AOvVaw2hI8OcBg9E-8Kw8MfE6mv4&amp;ust=1565502341487244" target="_blank"> according to my research</a>&nbsp;most jade rollers are actually made of serpentine or other imitation stones. I'm not surprised by that, when jade rollers first became a trend I was really skeptical that they were genuinely made of jade, which is pretty expensive stuff. Whether this roller is real jade or not, it mimics the feel of it quite closely. By the way, something I see mentioned infrequently - jade (and similar stones) are porous, so you need to clean your jade rollers periodically!<br /><br />&nbsp;As pleasing to the eye as this jade roller is, I do have a few critiques for it's construction.&nbsp; Revlon's Jade Stone roller has much less weight to it than I expected, but it feels reasonably sturdy. The smaller side can get a little tight and doesn't roll smoothly, while the larger side feels too loose and mobile to apply a decent amount of even pressure. Both sides of this facial roller squeak like a hamster wheel. I've owned dozens of mice, hamsters, and gerbils over the years, so I'm practically immune to that sound, but I can see how it would detract from this tool's ~relaxing~ effects for some.<br /><br />Revlon's Jade Stone Facial Roller is fun and novel to use. This tool feels cooling (some keep it in the fridge to up the chill factor - I'll probably follow suit in the summer months) and pleasant, providing light pressure when rolled over the skin. Stone rollers are meant to increase circulation and lymph drainage, helping skin to look brighter, firmer, and more even with time. I've found this roller to be nice for pressing in serums, and smoothing out sheet masks. I don't feel like this tool has had any visible impact on my skin, aside from maybe some slight depuffing (it's hard to say, puffiness isn't typically a problem for me). My skin, nor my skincare routine, seem to be improved by Revlon's Jade Stone Roller in any way. If I'm honest, the novelty wore off quite quickly, and I rarely reach for my jade roller now.<br /><br />All up, I don't feel like jade rollers live up to their hype. Revlon's is a wallet-friendly way to give them a try - I find it doubtful that a pricier model would have much more impact than this drugstore one does, though the construction may be better. If you want to try one out for yourself, or you're just a sucker for aesthetic like I am, give jade rollers a try, but they're far from an essential. I'll keep my Revlon Jade Stone Facial Roller, but I do kind of regret spending the money on it.<br /><br />&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px; text-align: center;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px; text-align: center;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px; text-align: center;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px; text-align: center;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/O-mnHwKa53Y" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/revlon-jade-stone-facial-roller-review.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-7651701075497610112019-08-17T05:05:00.000-04:002019-08-17T05:05:36.763-04:00Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleansing Balm Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H5bA01nlhe8/XVfDAY2Og5I/AAAAAAAAa8E/6Ftn0Yy4JkIFCBLzwS-GX037556l0trjACLcBGAs/s1600/DGNH4491.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleansing Balm Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H5bA01nlhe8/XVfDAY2Og5I/AAAAAAAAa8E/6Ftn0Yy4JkIFCBLzwS-GX037556l0trjACLcBGAs/s1600/DGNH4491.JPG" title="Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleansing Balm" /></a></div><a href="http://yesto.com/" target="_blank">Yes To</a> says their Cucumber Exfoliating Cleansing Balm will help you say "<i>Yes to coming clean with cucumber oil to gently remove dirt and makeup</i>." This drugstore cleansing balm contains 120g (4 oz) of&nbsp; product and retails for $15AUD ($10USD). Yes To is cruelty free. This cleansing balm was made in Israel<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleansing Balm comes in a green and white plastic pot with a flip top lid. Directions for use and a full ingredient list are printed on the label. A green silicone cleansing pad is included with this product. Personally, I'm not a fan of those, and even if I was I don't think they'd work very well with this product's texture. I'm just gonna disregard it. This product's packaging is recyclable.<br /><br />The Cucumber Exfoliating Cleansing Balm is a semi-solid mint green balm, peppered with natural wax exfoliating beads. I find the product to be quite visually appealing - it looks like a mint sorbet. This cleansing balm melts into a slightly heavy, oily consistency when it comes into contact with the skin. Yes To's cleansing balm removes makeup nicely, but I feel so uncomfortable putting scrubby beads so close to my eyes - it feels like a retinal injury waiting to happen. A bit of warm water helps Yes To's Exfoliating Cleansing Balm emulsify into a light, milky consistency, which wipes away easily with a wash cloth - except for those pesky exfoliating beads, which are difficult to remove - I always end up with a few stragglers. The Yes To Cucumbers' Exfoliating Cleansing Balm leaves my skin feeling quite soft but otherwise it has no impact on my skin (not that I expect miracles from my makeup removers, I just want them to work!). I had originally though that this cleansing balm was one of the products that triggered my fungal acne, but I've since ruled that out.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r9pTZdmzzQ4/XVfDI9wd9nI/AAAAAAAAa8I/8ayu0eFGMW4MKsu0YLELGCXOCh5R5zxRwCLcBGAs/s1600/LPUB7959.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r9pTZdmzzQ4/XVfDI9wd9nI/AAAAAAAAa8I/8ayu0eFGMW4MKsu0YLELGCXOCh5R5zxRwCLcBGAs/s1600/LPUB7959.JPG" /></a></div>This cleansing balm has a base of sweet almond oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride. beeswax, and castor oil, with caranuba wax beads suspended within it. Next up are a handful of emulsifiers and thickeners, followed by Vitamin E and moisturizing oils like coconut, cucumber, jojoba, and sesame. Preservatives and fragrance round out this cleansing balm's ingredient list. As you can expect, the Exfoliating Cleansing Balm has a fresh, almost fruity cucumber scent that's pleasant but a bit overpowering.<br /><br />Yes to Cucumbers' Exfoliating Cleansing Balm isn't bad, but I wouldn't repurchase or recommend it. This balm removes makeup decently, but I really detest the inclusion of exfoliating beads (even if they aren't plastic), they make the product difficult to remove and hazardous to the eyes. I believe Yes To make a different cleansing balm without them - pick that one over the Exfoliating Cleansing Balm, or choose the similarly priced <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2018/06/palmers-coconut-oil-cleansing-balm.html" target="_blank">Palmers' Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm</a> instead. Your experience will be much more pleasant.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="color: #5f5f5f;">-</span><a href="http://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Beeswax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Palmitate, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Lactose, Cellulose, Chromium Hydroxide Green, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum).</div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/qrmw-WtXmwQ" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/yes-to-cucumbers-exfoliating-cleansing.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-23691142072944112862019-08-09T23:51:00.000-04:002019-08-09T23:51:25.815-04:00Pixi pHenomenal Gel Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rv6BHhT0sFU/XU4fNJ7FRDI/AAAAAAAAa7k/0Ek5llJIgq4W38c7nypzV45He09M4s1cACLcBGAs/s1600/OZGW8464.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pixi pHenomenal Gel Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1381" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rv6BHhT0sFU/XU4fNJ7FRDI/AAAAAAAAa7k/0Ek5llJIgq4W38c7nypzV45He09M4s1cACLcBGAs/s1600/OZGW8464.JPG" title="Pixi pHenomenal Gel" /></a></div><a href="https://pixibeauty.co.uk/" target="_blank">Pixi's</a> pHenomenal Gel is a "<i>balancing and pH neutralizing moisture gel. Soothing gel helps to balance and stabilize skin pH. For all skin types</i>." This pH friendly moisturizer contains 50ml (1.7 fl oz) and retails for $24US/£24GBP/$46AUD. Pixi is cruelty free. This moisturizer was made in Korea.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Pixi's pHenomenal Gel comes in a simple spring green squeeze tube. I feel like this is too soft of a tube for this product's consistency, it's easy to squeeze out too much. I'd love to see pHenomenal Gel come in a pumped squeeze tube like most of Pixi's other moisturizers do. Beyond that, I find the packaging aesthetically pleasing, and I enjoy the product's punny name. I don't believe that this moisturizer's tube is recycable.<br /><br />pHenomenal Gel is a medium weight white gel that feels wet and cooling upon application. This pH balancing moisturizer sinks in quickly and imparts a dewy glow, but it leaves behind a slightly tacky finish for about 10-15 minutes after. Pixi's pHenomenal Gel is nicely hydrating, and has been keeping my skin in good condition - it's done wonders for repairing and maintaining my moisture barrier. Since I've started using this pH friendly product, my skin has been calmer and less reactive, and I've had fewer breakouts.<br /><br />Pixi's pHenomenal Gel has a base of water, glycerin, and other humectants. Vitamins A, B5, C, &amp; E make appearances on the ingredient list, coupled with excellent botanical extracts like aloe, cucumber, chamomile, ginseng, blueberry, and&nbsp; horse chestnut. pHenomenal Gel is fragrance free - a rarity among Pixi products, but a wise choice considering the product's pH friendly concept.<br /><br />In my opinion, Pixi's pHenomenal Gel is a great lightweight but hydrating moisturizer for normal to oily skin, especially for the warmer months. I don't feel like this moisturizer would satisfy dry skin's demands. I think this is a great product to reach for if you've recently over exfoliated, regardless of your skin type, so soothe and rebalance the skin.<br /><br />I like Pixi's pHenomenal Gel a lot! Though it's a little joyless in application, it has done my skin a lot of good. I won't be repurchasing this moisturizer immediately, but I do intend on picking up another tube in summer, I think it could really help me if I end up battling fungal acne again. If you have a compromised moisture barrier, a bad habit of using too many harsh products, or just want a good gel moisturizer, Pixi's pHenomenal Gel is a great mid-range option.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="font-family: lora, serif;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Water, Glycerin, Glycereth-26, Betaine, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Isododecane, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Citric Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Isohexadecane, Trehalose, Panthenol, Polysorbate 80, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">This product was sent to me for review by Pixi. This facial mist contains 120ml (4 fl oz) and retails for $22AUD ($13 USD). Hylamide is a subsidiary of Deceim, and creates cruelty free, vegan friendly products that are made in Canada.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />The Sub-Q Mist comes in a plastic bottle topped with a finicky spritzer - it usually expels an even fine mist, but sometimes it produces large droplets. I've come to prefer spritzing this mist into my hands and patting it on, due to the unpredictability of it. Packaging is recycable.<br /><br />I'd been curious about Hylamide products for a while, but I wasn't really sure where to start. I bought the Sub-Q Mist because I was lacking a mist/hydrating toner step in my routine, and this one was highly recommended by Caroline Hirons. I was pretty excited to incorporate this mist into my routine, but if I'm honest, I don't feel like it really does anything for me. Hylamide's mist seems to impart some moisture into the skin, but it doesn't really impact the look or feel of my complexion. Sub-Q doesn't create a plumped or dewy look, and it only partially relives the tight, dry feeling created by harsher products like clay masks and acne treatments. To me, that's the core function of a mist in my routine, so Sub-Q Mist is obsolete. I personally only use this mist as a skincare step, but there's no reason you can't use it over your makeup to refresh the face if that's your preference.<br /><br />Hylamide's Sub-Q Mist is basically a souped up rosewater spray. The ingredient list starts of with a mix of water and rosewater, followed by several antioxidant rich and soothing ingredients like pepperberry extract, green tea ferment, and arginine, coupled with humectant glycerin. This mist is alcohol and added fragrance free (though not truly fragrance free, since it contains rosewater). This mist smells a little strange in my opinion, almost like a cleaning product.<br /><br />I've found Hylamide's Sub-Q Mist to be only ok - I wouldn't repurchase or recommend it, unless you've been on a big Deciem kick (like I've been, lately. I'm not really sure why the Sub-Q mist receives so much praise, in my opinion it's the least interesting Deciem product I've tried so far. There's clearly been a lot of thought put into this product's ingredient list, it contains a good amount of interesting and beneficial ingredients, but I don't feel like they truly boost Sub-Q beyond a regular rosewater mist.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">aqua (water), rosa damascena flower water, epigallocatechin gallatyl glucoside, tasmannia lanceolate fruit/ leaf extract, curculigo orchioides root extract, pseudoalteromonas exopolysaccharides, gallyl glucoside, arginine, propanediol, glycerin, sodium salicylate, citric acid, propyl gallate, trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, gellan gum, peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, ppg-26-buteth-26, sodium chloride, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin.</div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/Xc3OZuuxlbA" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/08/hylamide-sub-q-mist-review.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-35583877996908892052019-07-29T09:55:00.000-04:002019-07-29T09:55:23.376-04:00Out with the Old - July 2019 Empties<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BJsSjAa1Jwc/XT74M2S3SbI/AAAAAAAAa7M/S8_GpMDmZ6Yn-fa8qZfW_vACzrh3LzqcwCLcBGAs/s1600/UDVC4945.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1254" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BJsSjAa1Jwc/XT74M2S3SbI/AAAAAAAAa7M/S8_GpMDmZ6Yn-fa8qZfW_vACzrh3LzqcwCLcBGAs/s1600/UDVC4945.JPG" /></a></div>My July Empties are coming up a couple days ahead of schedule (a wild concept for me, honestly). The month of July went by so fast for me, and I was surprised with how many products ended up in my empties bin - I was expecting only a handful and came away with one of my most plentiful empties of the year. As always, reviews are linked were applicable, and products marked with an asterisk (*) are products I plan to repurchase, or already have!<br /><a name='more'></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/06/the-ordinary-squalane-cleanser-review.html" target="_blank">The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser</a></b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love this cleanser! The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser is one of the best makeup removers I've ever used - it effortlessly melts off every trace of my makeup and leaves my complexion hydrated and fresh. I have a couple other makeup removers to go through, but when I'm in need of a new one, I'll almost definitely repurchase this one!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/10/the-ordinary-niacinamide-10zinc-1-serum.html" target="_blank"><b>The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide/1% Zinc Serum</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">The Ordinary's 10% Niacinamide/1% Zinc Serum is an essential in my routine! This serum reduces my redness and breakouts, and helps heal the ones that do manage to pop up. I'm currently taking a break from this serum to test out another niacinamide rich product, but I'm sure I'll repurchase it in the future. Definitely one of my all time favorite products.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Batiste Pink Pineapple Dry Shampoo</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Another all time favorite that shows up in most of my empties - Batiste Dry Shampoo. This month I used up a can of the new Pink Pineapple scent, and I loved it! The scent was fresh and zingy without being too strong, and the fruity purple can only adds to it's appeal. I'm using a different scent at the moment, but I'll likely pick up another Pink Pineapple in the future.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2015/05/covergirl-super-sizer-by-lash-blast.html" target="_blank"><b>Covergirl The Super Sizer Macara</b></a>^*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Covergirl's Super Sizer Mascara has been my go to lately for creating thick, dark lashes that just don't budge. These patches were very effective for sucking the gunk out of my pimples, and they helped prevent me from&nbsp;subconsciously picking at my spots. This creamy clay cleanser kept my skin soft, soothed, and balanced with each wash. I didn't love it's potent essential oil fragrance, both otherwise I had no complaints. I've moved on to a different cream cleanser, and won't be repurchasing Arcona's, but I'm very glad to have tried it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Body Lotion</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This lotion was a gift from my mother in law, from her recent trip to New Zealand. This setting spray was very "meh" to me. I don't feel like InstaFix&amp;Go had any real impact on my foundation's wear time at all, but it did give create a slight glowy finish. I finished this setting spray off, but I wouldn't buy it again. I've moved on to something else.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/07/charlotte-tilbury-full-fat-lashes.html" target="_blank">Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara</a></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I really, really wanted to love Charlotte Tilbury's Full Fat Lashes Mascara, but it was a huge disappointment for me. This mascara creates a beautiful dramatic lash look, but it doesn't even last half a day before flaking all the way off. I'm glad I was able to buy this mascara with a gift card, as I barely got any good use out of it. Skip this.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/03/current-candle-collection.html" target="_blank">Bath&amp;BodyWorks Black Cherry Merlot Candle</a></b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Black Cherry Merlot is one of the best candles I've ever had! This rich, fruity candle had excellent scent through and burned evenly from start to finish. I intended to write a review on it, but as I was preparing the post, I realised that the ingredient list and price point have changed significantly. The new ingredient list is much less impressive, and the price point has lowered by a good $30. Derma Energy now offers a premium "black label" version of Hydrate and Inflate, under the name HA3, which I believe to be the version I have. The price is undisclosed, as its now a "prescription" only product. The whole thing feels sketchy to me, so I won't be repurchasing or recommending this product.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/07/pixi-makeup-melting-cleansing-cloths.html" target="_blank"><b>Pixi Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths</b></a>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love Pixi, but their Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths are some of the worst makeup removing wipes I've ever tried. This eye cream is rich, hydrating, and softening - it's a bit much for me on some days. When I had dry patches this was the first thing I reached for. The Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is just so nourishing! I won't be buying it again in the foreseeable future, but if you have dry under eyes I highly recommend it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2012/09/lush-caca-rouge-henna-hair-color-review.html" target="_blank"><b>Lush Caca Rouge Henna</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Lush's Caca Rouge Henna Hair Color is one of my forever repurchases. This hair dye keeps my hair a fiery yet realistic red and lasts at least twice as long as traditional box dye. I've gone through countless blocks over the 7 years I've been using it, with no intent to stop!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Formula 10.0.6 Soak Your Face Intensive Hydrating Sheet Mask</b> x2</div><div style="text-align: center;">Morgan picked these sheet masks up for us on a whim, and we both had mixed feelings on them. The masks went on easily, but fit us both poorly (and were quite uncomfortable because of it). The Soak Your Face masks dried quickly and needed to be removed at 20 minutes (Formula 10.0.6 recommends a 20-30 minute wear time). The plentiful serum was nicely hydrating, and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I'm not a sheet mask kinda gal, so I wouldn't repurchase the Soak Your Face Intensive Hydrating Sheet Masks, but they were nice to try.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>How many products did you finish in July?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as press samples.</span></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/KfS2M573Vc0" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/07/out-with-old-july-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-71729701957360636302019-07-26T03:56:00.000-04:002019-07-26T03:56:46.195-04:00Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hGzaVElkuK8/XTqxbwvHReI/AAAAAAAAa7A/FxRS3agEcwYf8oR-GTXNcyPpKNlMn0IsgCLcBGAs/s1600/LJCI5044.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hGzaVElkuK8/XTqxbwvHReI/AAAAAAAAa7A/FxRS3agEcwYf8oR-GTXNcyPpKNlMn0IsgCLcBGAs/s1600/LJCI5044.JPG" title="Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Cream" /></a></div><a href="https://www.kiehls.com.au/" target="_blank">Kiehl's</a> Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is a classic, practically iconic product! I'm probably the last blogger to try it! According to the brand, this is a "<i>nourishing eye cream that gently moisturizes the delicate under-eye area. Formulated with Avocado Oil, this rich treatment smoothes on the eye area for rich hydration with a creamy texture that does not migrate into eyes. Ophthalmologist- and dermatologist-tested for safety. A Kiehl's customer favorite.</i>" This eye cream is available in two sizes, 14ml ($30USD/$48AUD), or 28ml ($48USD/$83AUD). Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment spent a long, long time on my&nbsp;<a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/p/wish-list.html" target="_blank">Wishlist</a>&nbsp;before it was gifted to me as part of an Influenster campaign. Kiehl's products are not cruelty free. This eye cream is made in the USA.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment comes in a small, opaque, white plastic tub with a twist lid. A product description and directions for use are printed on the front of the jar in avocado green lettering (that I find a little hard to read). I'm not really in favor of jar packaging for eye creams (or moisturizers in general), and would've preferred it to come in some sort of squeeze tube. Alas, that's not my decision. This eye cream's packaging is recyclable.<br /><br />This iconic eye treatment is a spring green cream with an unusual texture. Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is dense and thick, but it melts with the skin's warmth, transforming into a lighter, more workable consistency. This eye cream is extremely rich and takes a few minutes to sink in, sitting atop the skin in an emollient layer for 5-10 minutes. I've had mixed results with this eye cream, but they trend to the positive! The Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is deeply hydrating, and seems to be brightening, but it can also be a little bit too much for me and causes some occasional puffiness. I've seen many people mention that this eye cream can cause millia and other under eye breakouts, but I haven't experienced any of those issues. For the most part, aside from the occasional puffiness (which I believe to be user error via over application), I feel like this cream does my under eyes some good, but it hasn't been a game changer.<br /><br />The Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment has a base of water, shea butter, and and butylene glycol, followed by a few texture enhancers. Next up is the namesake ingredient, avocado oil, followed by more texturizers. Beyond the preservatives, you'll find more skin loving emollients like sunflower seed oil, vitamin e, and castor oil. If I'm honest, I don't find the ingredient list particularly interesting or inspiring - avocado oil and shea butter do most of this product's work. On the plus side, this eye cream is fragrance, silicone, and alcohol free.<br /><br />Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is definitely not for everyone. I think this eye cream is only appropriate for dry to normal skin types. Combination to oily skin types will almost definitely find this eye cream to be too heavy, and will likely experience the puffiness, millia, and other issues I mentioned in the previous paragraph. This eye cream should be fine for most sensitive skin, but of course everyone's sensitivities are different. I feel like this is much more of a "maintenance" eye cream than a reparative product - it contains very little in the way of anti-aging ingredients.<br /><br />I'm not super into eye creams, so I won't be repurchasing Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment, but I enjoyed using it. I definitely understand why this is a beloved product, but it isn't really for me. If you have dry undereyes that need a big hit of moisture, this eye cream is a great mid-range choice.<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Aqua/Water, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Shea Butter, Butylene Glycol, Tridecyl Stearate, Isodecyl Salicylate, Peg-30,Dipolyhydroxystearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Persea Gratissima Oil/Avocado Oil, Isocetyl Stearoyl Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Magnesium Sulfate, Phenoxyethanol, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Pca, Ozokerite, Methylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Disodium Edta, Copper Pca, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Sunflower Seed Oil, Ci 75130/Beta-Carotene, Tocopherol, Citric Acid.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />This product was sent to me as part of a Influenster campaign. Infused with soothing &amp; hydrating botanical extracts, these make skin feel perfectly clean &amp; balanced with each use. Use anytime.</i>" These makeup removing wipes are sold in a pack of 40 for $16AUD ($10/£10). I was gifted a limited edition ten pack to try. Pixi products are cruelty free. This product was made in China.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />The full size of Pixi's Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths come in a soft pink pouch with a hard plastic closure to keep the wipes safe from drying out. Unfortunately, the travel sized packet doesn't share this feature - it had a sticker closure that just didn't stick - it wasn't secure at all and came all the way off multiple times in my makeup bag. Packaging wasn't functional, but it's quite pretty and informative - there's a product description, directions, and full ingredient list offered on the back of the pink packet. Packaging is not recyclable.<br /><br />These are...not good. Pixi's Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths are thin, soft, stretchy wipes that were barely saturated, even when the packet was freshly opened. These wipes aren't capable of breaking down or removing very much makeup at all, at best they can take off your foundation or some eyeliner smudges, but they can't budge liquid liner, mascara, or even a strong lip color. They're almost embarrassingly ineffective, and to make matters worse they left my skin feeling kinda tight and dry. I rarely use makeup wipes, at least willingly, but I like to keep a small packet in my backpack just in case, but Pixi's Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths don't even cut it for those situations.<br /><br />Pixi's Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths have a fairly simple formula of water, glycerin, and a combination surfactant/emulsifier. Following the bulk of the formula, we have a couple preservatives, vitamin E, and inconsequential amounts of aloe, rose water, chamomile, rose water, tea tree, and grape seed oils - all nice ingredients, but they're in too small of a concentration to do much of anything. These cleansing cloths have a strong rosy fragrance.<br /><br />The Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths are a huge disappointment. Pixi is one of my favorite brands, and I think almost all of their products are great - I hold them in very high esteem, so I find this product extra disappointing. These makeup removal wipes just don't work. Their pricing is fair, and the full sized packaging is attractive and functional, but when it comes down to it, the Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths aren't worth it. Pixi can make better products than this, and I hope they consider reformulating or releasing a different product. Until then, maybe check out <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2016/05/simple-micellar-makeup-remover-wipes.html" target="_blank">Simple's Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes</a> if wipes are a preference of yours.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="color: #5f5f5f;">-</span><a href="http://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Water, Glycerin, PEG-6 Capyrilic/Capric Glycerides, Phenoxyethanol, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Fragrance, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aloe Barbadenis Leaf Juice, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Melaleuca Alternifoila (Tea Tree) Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil.<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />This product was sent to me by Pixi for review. I love big lashes, and with a name like Full Fat Lashes, it's hard not to be enticed - though to be honest I used to think it was called "Four Fat Lashes" (I find Charlotte very difficult to understand - forgive me, I'm half deaf). According to the brand, this mascara "<i>will give you curl, separation, volume, length, and drama. The five-grooved brush deposits the optimal line of mascara along the lash line, pushing your lashes up and out. It features fine-tipped bristles that catch every lash—no matter how short or fine—coating them from root to tip in the glossy black formula. The buildable formula creates voluptuous lashes that don’t dry up and fall onto your cheeks and a three-dimensional flutter that is ideal for finely separated, naturally-defined eyelashes</i>." This mascara contains 8ml of product and retails for $45AUD ($29USD/£23). Charlotte Tilbury is a cruelty free brand that's working towards becoming entirely vegan friendly. This mascara was made in Germany.<br /><a name='more'></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U86KIPB_1y4/XS8Uw8uvpCI/AAAAAAAAa6E/lh6zjbvHPjURu1bYrcizODJePtXjReygQCLcBGAs/s1600/WIGY7083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U86KIPB_1y4/XS8Uw8uvpCI/AAAAAAAAa6E/lh6zjbvHPjURu1bYrcizODJePtXjReygQCLcBGAs/s1600/WIGY7083.JPG" title="Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara" /></a></div>Charlotte Tilbury's packaging style is the definition of elegant, and Full Fat Lashes' tube is no exception. This mascara comes in a dark brown tube, decorated with the golden Charlotte Tilbury logo on one side, and the product name on the other. Charlotte makes a big fuss about this mascara' "specially designed brush", but honestly it seems like a classic tapered brush to me. The brush is easy to use, reasonably sized, and holds just the right amount of product - it's quite nice, but not as revolutionary as Charlotte wants it to seem.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RuiUlp9-0gs/XS8VUoKi79I/AAAAAAAAa6Q/ZapqOfeW_DYWW24no1_vT_4PEh9pV8DnACLcBGAs/s1600/PHJT2463.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara Review" border="0" data-original-height="1465" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RuiUlp9-0gs/XS8VUoKi79I/AAAAAAAAa6Q/ZapqOfeW_DYWW24no1_vT_4PEh9pV8DnACLcBGAs/s1600/PHJT2463.JPG" title="Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara " /></a></div>Full Fat Lashes seemed like exactly the kind of mascara I love. This mascara leans towards the dry side, and builds equal amounts of length and volume slowly, coat by coat, creating a thick, long, dramatic lash look with a deep black finish. Full Fat Lashes holds a curl nicely without feeling heavy or crunchy. Beautiful. If only it lasted more than a couple hours. Wear was problematic from the get-go, Full Fat Lashes flakes off even under the best conditions. I can kind of forgive a mascara for smudging on a hot day, but Charlotte Tilbury's mascara doesn't last longer than three hours even on a cold day spent at home. I don't have particularly oily skin or watery eyes, I can't figure out what triggers this poor wear - I think the formula just doesn't agree with my lashes. If you manage to keep this mascara on throughout the day, its easily removed with any cleanser or makeup remover you choose to use - even water should take it right off.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d2Y7-o3tRy4/XS8VtgE7g6I/AAAAAAAAa6g/D67zpmoMXQ8bj2KsouGGUUrDICcVncvAgCLcBGAs/s1600/AJHM0140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara Review" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d2Y7-o3tRy4/XS8VtgE7g6I/AAAAAAAAa6g/D67zpmoMXQ8bj2KsouGGUUrDICcVncvAgCLcBGAs/s1600/AJHM0140.JPG" title="Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara " /></a></div>I'm glad I tried Charlotte Tilbury's Full Fat Lashes, my curiosity has been quelled, but I definitely wouldn't repurchase it. I'm supremely disappointed by this mascara's flakiness, it'd be beautiful otherwise. I can't say that I'm in a hurry to try anything else from Charlotte Tilbury's line, especially after my experience with Full Fat Lashes. Made with medical-grade hydrocolloid, we use the thinnest available patches to draw out the gunk, reducing inflammation and the urge to pick.</i>" Subi Beauty, a brand new Australian K-Beauty brand, sells their Perfect Pimple Patches in a three pack of 18 patch sheets for $29.95AUD. These pimple patches are cruelty free, vegan friendly, and made in Korea.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches come in a trendy silver holographic pouch that offers plenty of product information and directions for use. Inside this shiny pouch is a sheet of 10mm circular hydrocolloid bandages. These patches are nearly colorless and relatively discreet at least on my fair skin - I can't say if deeper skin will have the same experience. When I say they're discreet, I mean I wouldn't wear them out in public, but I wouldn't mind checking the mail or chatting with a neighbor while wearing one. Visible, but not attention grabbing or question inducing (probably).<br /><div><br /></div><div>So before I tell you about my experience with Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches, let me explain what pimple patches are. Most pimple patches, including these, are actually just little hydrocolloid bandages. What are those? Hydrocolloid bandages are self adhesive bandages that contain a compound that helps draw pus and fluid out of wounds, helping to reduce infection and speed up the healing process. Subi Beauty's patches don't have the best adhesion - they don't stay on well if you're doing much talking or eating. You're better off wearing these overnight only - I haven't had any issue with them coming off at night (and I sleep face down, for ref).<br /><br />I applied Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches to several different kinds of pimples - previously popped pimples in the process of healing, active whiteheads, and those hard under-the-skin bois that never really come to the surface. These patches sucked a lot of gunk out of the pre-popped pimples and whiteheads, but didn't have any significant effect on the still-forming pimples that were brewing under the surface. Repeated applications of the patches continued to draw pus out of my active acne, until they went flat a few days later. More importantly, applying the patches kept me from picking at my pimples (a terrible habit I've been struggling to break!), preventing infection and additional damage to the skin. If you're a skin picker, you need to try pimple patches.<br /><br />I really liked these! Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches definitely helped my whiteheads to heal quicker, both by helping to extract pus and by keeping my fingers off my face. If you're late to the pimple patch trend, like I was, you really should consider giving them a try! I wanna try a few different brands of pimple patches, just to get a feel for whats on the market, but I could see myself coming back to Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches in the future!<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center;">Cellulose gum, styrene isoprene, styrene block copolymer, polyisobutylene, petroleum resin, polyurethane film liquid, paraffin, tetrakis methane.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />This product was sent to me for review. Gently and effectively removes dirt, pollution and make-up without disrupting the skin's natural protective barrier. Four O'Clock Flower Extract (mirabilis jalapa) calms and reduces the appearance of redness while Green Tea and Chamomile extracts neutralize damaging free radicals. A complex of Seaweed and Hyaluronic Acid restores and replenishes skin's lipids, improves texture, and helps to prevent dehydration and dryness. A blend of French Clay and Moringa Seed Extract gently purifies and hydrates, leaving skin beautifully clean, balanced and restored.</i>" The Four O'Clock Flower Gentle Cleansing Cream contains 110ml (3.67oz) and retails for $46USD at Nordstrom and select spas, or $64AUD at Sephora in Australia. Arcona is certified cruelty free, and most of their products (including this one) are vegan friendly. This cleanser was made in the USA.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />Arcona's Four O'Clock Flower Gentle Cleansing Cream comes in an opaque grey squeeze tube with a flip top cap. Labeling is quite straightforward on the front of the tube, with product information and directions for use printed on the back. This cleanser's packaging is recyclable.<br /><br />The Four O'Clock Flower Gentle Cleansing Cream is a slightly off-white, medium weight cream. I like working a decently sized dollop of this cream cleanser onto dry or only slightly damp skin until it's almost sunk into the skin. A little splash of water creates a very light, easily rinsed lather - I like to wash it away with a washcloth, but it isn't necessary. I mainly use Arcona's Cleansing Cream in the morning, or occasionally as a second cleanse. Four O'Clock Flower is capable of removing light makeup, but I wouldn't recommend it, as I find this cleanser quite stingy on the eye area.<br /><br />At first, I was treating Arcona's Four O'Clock Flower Gentle Cleansing Cream as a "sometimes" product because I thought it would be a bit too much for daily use, but it turns out my skin loves it - it's been looking great since I incorporated it into my daily routine! This cleansing cream is very soothing, it softens and calms my complexion with each use, reducing redness and leaving me with fresher looking skin. If you have dry to combo skin that tends to get a little upset, but isn't prone to congestion, this is the clay cleanser for you.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">This cream cleanser has a base of water, gentle surfactants, gylcerin, and two types of clay. The featured ingredient, four o'clock flower extract, appears right up among the top ten ingredients, which is quite impressive. This botanical extract is meant to be a soothing anti-inflammatory. High doses of hydrating hyaluronic acid, calming chamomile and green tea, and toning witch hazel can be found in the middle of this cleanser's ingredient list. A handful of botanical oils like lavender, rose, and ylang ylang oils are included towards the end of the ingredients, and give this cleanser a potent essential oil scent that I could personally do without. Four O'Clock Flower's ingredients round out with some standard texture enhancers and natural preservatives.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Arcona is a brand I've been interested in for a couple years, and I think their Four O'Clock Flower Gentle Cleansing Cream was a nice introduction to the brand - it's definitely strengthened my interest in trying other Arcona products. That being said, I wouldn't personally repurchase this cream cleanser, not because it has any severe faults - it doesn't, I really do like it, but because trying new cleansers is almost an addiction to me. If you're curious about Arcona products like I am, or want to incorporate a luxury cream cleanser into your routine, Four O'Clock Flower is worth trying out.&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="background-color: white; color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Aqua (Water), Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Kaolin, Glycerin, Mirabilis Jalapa Flower/Leaf/ Stem Extract, Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Glucoside, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Purified Clay), Sodium Hyaluronate (L), Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Propanediol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Moringa Oleifera Seed Extract, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil*, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Oil*, Nardostachys Chinensis (Spikenard) Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Alcohol</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:<br />I won this product in a brand sponsored giveaway. No <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2013/12/batiste-cherry-dry-shampoo-review.html" target="_blank">Batiste Dry Shampoo</a>, no <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/10/the-ordinary-niacinamide-10zinc-1-serum.html" target="_blank">The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide/1% Zinc Serum</a>. Crazy, right? It's not that I haven't been using them, they just didn't run out in the time frame of this post. Despite not containing either of my most commonly finished products, June's empties are pretty boring, they're all basic products with a few declutters tossed in. Click through to read more about the thirteen products I finished this month. As always, products I intend to repurchase (or already have) are marked with an asterisk (*).<br /><br /><a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/05/derma-energy-clean-with-envy-cleanser.html" target="_blank"><b>Derma Energy Clean with Envy Cleanser</b></a>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Derma Energy's Clean with Envy Cleanser was never ending! I used this cleanser twice a day from mid February til the first week of June before it ran out! Clean with Envy was a good simple cleanser that balanced my skin nicely and aided in my fight against fungal acne. I wouldn't buy it again, since it's quite basic for it's nearly $40 price point, but it served me well in our 4+ months together.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Sweet Pea Body Lotion</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Sweet Pea is such a classic - it just smells like being 17, in the best way! This bright floral fragrance has a fun, almost tart fruity note that I just can't get enough of. Honestly I've never been that big of a fan of Bath&amp;BodyWorks' lotion formula, and their price in Australia is ridiculously high, so I won't be repurchasing - but I'll probably pick up the matching shower gel and body spray some time.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/03/current-candle-collection.html" target="_blank"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Salted Caramel Candle</b></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I've had mixed feelings about Bath&amp;BodyWorks' Salted Caramel Candle. On one hand, the scent is deliciously - sweet, nutty, and warm without being sickeningly sweet. The scent throw was weaker than I'd prefer, and towards the end this candle started burning poorly. By the time Salted Caramel burned it's self out, it was kind of a mess. I had been looking forward to keeping the lovely bronze jar - which I dropped and shattered while setting up this post's photo. Hecc.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>OGX Gravity Defying+Hydrating o2 Shampoo+Conditioner</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I have no opinion on this shampoo and conditioner combo. I used them both til the last drop, and I still come away with nothing. The Gravity Defying+Hydrating o2 Shampoo and Conditioner kept my hair clean and relatively detangled, but otherwise failed to impress me. OGX has better ranges.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Bath&amp;BodyWorks Sweet Cranberry Rose Shower Gel</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This is a pretty Bath&amp;BodyWorks heavy post! I had never heard of Sweet Cranberry Rose before finding this mini shower gel during the summer Semi Annual Sale, and I can kind of understand why. There's something flat about this scent - its nice, but its non-specific - vaguely floral, kinda cranberry, mostly boring. Bath&amp;BodyWorks are capable of much better scents, I've now moved on to an old favorite that I know I love.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Lush Groovy Kind of Love Bath Bomb</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">I picked Groovy Kind of Love up during my recent trip to Lush (which was meant to just be for a henna stock up. oops). based mostly on appearance. I had a cold at the time and couldn't pick up any sort of scent from this bath bomb - but it's pastel rainbow hues were appealing. Once I got it home and in the water it showed it's true colors (hazard orange, which I found unpleasant), and revealed it's scent - nonspecific scratch and sniff fruit sticker. Lush calls this scent a blend of rosewood, ylang ylang, and bergamot - but I'm like 90% sure this the scent is modeled after a 90s strawberry sticker. If it sounds like I'm complaining - I'm not. As a devoted sticker collector, I found it delightful.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Nature's Organics Fruits Apple Fresh Shampoo</b>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">This empty shampoo comes from Morgan, who insisted it needed to be here. He loves this $2 green apple scented shampoo. He's been using this shampoo, and the coordinating conditioner for years, and has already repurchased it - though he's displeased that they repackaged it into a much sleeker, more modern looking bottle.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Borghese Fango Active Radiance Facial Oil</b>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Borghese's skincare has been so <a href="https://media.tenor.com/images/5f4485aac7216a8a969c2b01c3c03348/tenor.gif" target="_blank">hit or miss</a>&nbsp;for me! I loved their <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2016/01/borghese-hydrology-reilluminate-facial.html" target="_blank">Hydrology&nbsp; Reilluminate Facial Oil</a>, so I figured I'd like the very similar Fango Active Radiance Facial Oil...but I didn't. This oil had a very dry texture, and didn't seem to moisturize the skin, at all. This oil did, however, cause redness and congestion. I was going to straight up declutter it, but in an effort not to be wasteful, I mixed it into a body lotion and finished it up that way.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2014/05/real-techniques-miracle-complexion.html" target="_blank"><b>Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge</b></a>*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Time and time again - I promise myself I won't repurchase a Real Techniques' Miracle Complexion Sponge. I'll treat myself to a Beauty Blender. But then I see the price, and do a 180° back to Priceline. Obviously, I have a love/hate relationship with this affordable foundation sponge. Real Techniques' Miracle Complexion Sponge works just fine, but they never last well for me - they either crumble, form a few spots of mould, or both, in the case of this one. Yet for some reason, I bought another one.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2017/03/maybelline-color-sensational-creamy.html" target="_blank"><b>Maybelline Daringly Nude Color Sensational Matte Lipstick</b></a>^</div><div style="text-align: center;">Maybelline's Daringly Nude is an old favorite that I no longer reach for. This matte peachy nude is quite flattering on my fair neutral to warm skin, both as a lip color and a cream blush, but I've only used it a handful of times this year, and I think that's a sign that it's time for us to part ways - though as I write this I'm having second thoughts!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2016/03/loreal-pain-au-chocolat-green-promenade.html" target="_blank"><b>L'Oreal Pain au Chocolat Color Riche Eyeshadow</b></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Just like the Maybelline Lipstick above, I'm having second thoughts about letting go of this rarely used old favorite. L'Oreal's Pain au Chocolat Color Riche single shadow is a beauitful cool lilac-y taupe shimmer that looked beautiful as a one-and-done eyeshadow. The texture of this eyeshadow was quite unique - almost a gelee, but not quite, it feels damp to the touch, but behaves like a traditional powder eyeshadow. I haven't used Pain au Chocolat at all in 2019, so I'm going to toss it, but it was well loved over the years.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2019/06/pixi-rose-ceramide-cream-review.html" target="_blank"><b>Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream</b></a>^*</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pixi's Rose Ceramide Cream and I got off on the wrong foot, but eventually I learned to love it. This moisturizer broke me out a little during the first week of use, but that issue quickly resolved it's self. Pixi's Rose Ceramide Cream was lovely for me, it gave me plump, glowy, hydrated skin that looked better than it had in a long time. I'm really sad to see this moisturizer go, both due to it's great results and it's gorgeous packaging. I'm using a different Pixi moisturizer now, but if I had to choose just one of their moisturizers to buy, it'd be Rose Ceramide Cream for sure.&nbsp;</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclosure:</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Products marked with an ^ were sent to me for review.&nbsp;</span></div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/OK-6g3Y5UoM" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/06/out-with-old-june-2019-empties.htmltag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237225110475768341.post-4025464053306875702019-06-24T10:17:00.000-04:002019-07-19T09:20:34.087-04:00The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lzXG34GNibg/XQ4x5oP9VRI/AAAAAAAAa5I/86FJZJxC4d8YO74fnnCnCMC1RQpuBBv_wCLcBGAs/s1600/INSS2574.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser Review" border="0" data-original-height="1390" data-original-width="1600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lzXG34GNibg/XQ4x5oP9VRI/AAAAAAAAa5I/86FJZJxC4d8YO74fnnCnCMC1RQpuBBv_wCLcBGAs/s1600/INSS2574.JPG" title="The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser" /></a></div>I love a lot of things about <a href="http://deciem.com/" target="_blank">The Ordinary</a>, but until recently they lacked my favorite category of product - cleansers. When they released their first cleanser, simply dubbed Squalane Cleanser, about two months ago, I couldn't have been more excited and planned a trip into their shop in The Rocks. I ended up coming across the cleanser sooner than expected in my local Priceline, and have been using it religiously since. The Ordinary describes their Squalane Cleanser as "<i>A gentle cleansing product formulated to target makeup removal whilst leaving the skin feeling smooth and moisturized. The formula incorporates Squalane, alongside other lipophilic esters that are gentle, moisturizing, efficient in dissolving makeup and facial impurities and increasing the spreadability of the product. When rubbed between your palms for approximately 10-30 seconds, the product undergoes an important textural change from a balm-like consistency to a clear oil-like consistency. This allows the emulsifying sucrose esters in the formula to trap and blend the dissolved makeup and facial impurities with water for rinsing. Being non-comedogenic and soap-free, this formula is designed to be gentle enough for daily use, without over-drying the skin, making it suitable for all skin types.</i>" The Squalane Cleanser contains 50ml (1.7 fl oz) and retails for $13.90 - a larger version is in the works. Deciem is cruelty free, with this particular product being vegan. This cleanser was made in Canada.<br /><a name='more'></a><br />The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser comes in a simple opaque grey squeeze tube with a flip top cap. Multi-lingual directions are printed on the back of the tube. Packaging is straightforward, functional, and recyclable.<br /><br />The Squalane Cleanser had a slightly different texture than I expected. This cleanser is a white, balmy,&nbsp; thick gel cream that melts into a thin, clear, oil consistency as you work it into the skin. Though there seems to be a lot of hype over this cleanser's consistency, I don't think it's as revolutionary as it seems - Borghese had an extremely similar product, the <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2015/12/borghese-hydrology-reclaim-gel-to-oil-cleanser-review.html" target="_blank">ReClaim Gel-to-Oil Cleanser</a> years ago. The Ordinary's version is a huge step up in quality, but gel-to-oil is hardly a novel concept.<br /><br />Though The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser can be used day or night, as a first or second cleanser, I use it exclusively to take my makeup off. This cleanser is an extremely effective makeup remover, it gets off every last trace of my makeup with barely any effort - it just melts everything right off. The Squalane Cleanser doesn't emulsify, but it's still easily rinsed with hands or a wash cloth, and doesn't leave any sort of greasy film. I always follow up with a more traditional gel cleanser, but this could easily be a standalone cleanser if you wear little to no makeup (or if you want to cleanse twice with it!). I've found The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser to be very gentle and well tolerated by my skin. I did experiencing a weird, lingering tingling on my acne the first time I used this cleanser, but it seemed to be a one off thing (I haven't seen anyone else mention it), but otherwise it's been smooth sailing.<br /><br />The Squalane Cleanser has a <a href="https://makeuptips.xyz/2018/09/the-ordinary-plant-derived-squalane.html" target="_blank">squalane</a> and water base, with gentle coconut and sugar derived cleansing agents and a handful of skin boosting emollients. The remaining ingredients are non-problematic texture enhancers, chelating ingredients, and preservatives. Like all The Ordinary products, the Squalane Cleanser is fragrance free. (Be aware that this cleanser contains a nut extract).<br /><br />I like The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser so much more than I expected to! This cleanser is one of the best makeup removers I've tried in a long time - not only is it effective, it's also enjoyable! My only complaint about this cleanser is that I'm using my tube up very quickly. A lot of product is needed with each use, so just six weeks after purchasing, I've already had to cut the tube open and scrape out the little bit that's left. This is the only factor that's keeping me from repurchasing The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser. If a larger or better valued size becomes available, this gel-to-oil cleanser will be back in my rotation in a heartbeat. If you're looking to try a somewhat novel yet still effective makeup remover, The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser is a great choice that I highly recommend.<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Update (July 2019)</b></div><b><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Deciem has released a larger 150ml size bottle that retails for $36AUD.&nbsp;</b></div></b><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3892315/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Bloglovin</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://neonchimpunk.tumblr.com/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Tumblr</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://twitter.com/NeonChipmunk" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Twitter</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Pinterest</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #5f5f5f; font-family: &quot;lora&quot; , serif; font-size: 15px;">-</span><a href="https://instagram.com/neonchipmunk/" style="color: #8acace; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 15px; max-width: calc(800px); outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.2s ease 0s;">Instagram</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Squalane, Aqua (Water), Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, Ethyl Macadamiate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sucrose Laurate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Sucrose Dilaurate, Sucrose Trilaurate, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Isoceteth-20, Sodium Polyacrylate, Tocopherol, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Malic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorphenesin.</div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TutorialsHaulsReviewsNat/~4/KO58sTlsdWU" height="1" width="1" alt=""/>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07414989198938681352noreply@blogger.com0http://makeuptips.xyz/2019/06/the-ordinary-squalane-cleanser-review.html
