Out with the Old - November 2019 Empties

November was a huge empties month for me. With a little help from Morgan, I used up 18 products. A dozen and a half - that's a fair bit, even for me! Last month's products are made up of a good mix of skincare, hair care, and makeup, with a little miscellany thrown in as well. As always, products I've already repurchased, or plan to, will be marked with an asterisk (*). Reviews are linked where applicable. Click through to read more about the products I finished in November.

Spot Medic Pimple Patches
After trying Subi Beauty's Perfect Pimple Patches^ I became kinda addicted to pimple patches, and decided to give a few other brand's offerings a try. My next pick up was Spot Medic's Pimple Patches, which include 36 hydrocolloid patches in a couple different sizes. Spot Medic's patches were only alright - I found them to be equally effective to Subi Beauty's, but they didn't adhere as well to my skin, and I often had them come off over night. I don't think I'd repurchase these, but they aren't bad.

Bath&BodyWorks Graphite Shower Gel
This shower gel is one of a handful of Morgan's empties this month. Bath&BodyWorks' Graphite fragrance is such a stereotypical "men's" scent - it's that woody, leathery scent that pretty much every brand produces. He liked it fine enough, but has moved on to a different scent.

Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water has been a staple in my routine for half a decade now! This micellar water removes makeup so efficiently without stinging or burning my eyes. I no longer rely on it for full on makeup removal the way I used to, but I always keep a bottle on hand for touch ups or lazy nights that I can't manage my full routine. I've already repurchased, in the new 700ml size (which I expect will last the rest of my life).

Pur-Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher
I haven't tried much from Pur-Lisse, but what I have tried, I've quite liked! This thin yet deeply hydrating lip balm was an all around treat - the packaging is lovely and functional, the formula was comfortable and effective. I won't be repurchasing, as I don't tend to splurge on lip balms, but if you want to spoil yourself and your lips, Pur-Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher is one to put on your list.

I received this half sized NARS Rikugien Satin Lip Pencil as a Sephora birthday gift years and years ago, and I just now finished it. I got so much more use out of this rosy satin lip crayon that I would've expected. To be honest, I could probably get a few more uses out of it, but I no longer have a sharpener that suits it's awkward size, and at it's age, it should probably be in the bin. I have tons of lip products to use, but I would consider repurchasing Rikugien in the future, it's a great day-to-day shade.

Batiste Eden Dry Shampoo*
Here it is, my monthly can of Batiste Dry Shampoo. This month's is the Eden scent in the jumbo sized can. Eden is a lovely sweet and light floral with equally pretty packaging. I'd definitely repurchase in the future, but for now I'm using a different scent of Batiste.

Avene Cleanance Expert Tinted Lotion
This tiny tinted moisturizer came to me in a giveaway prize. I didn't expect to like Avene's Cleanance Expert Tinted Lotion, as it seemed far too dark for me, but it's so sheer that it worked out just fine. This tinted moisturizer offers next to no coverage with a natural dewy finish. I wouldn't purchase the full size - if I'm spending $25+, I want more coverage.

Lypsyl's Intense Protection Lip Balm is a simple lip balm that keeps my lips hydrated and soft. That' it, it just works. There's no shtick or pizzazz - its just a lip balm. Lypsyl doesn't seem to be available in Australia, so I won't be repurchasing.

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil
Another sample from the giveaway mentioned above. Everything I've tried from Josie Maran (admittedly not much) has been great, and her Argan Cleansing Oil is no exception. This oil cleanser has a delightful plushness to it, and it removes makeup gently and effectively. I only got one use out of this sachet, so I can't say if I'd purchase the full size or not, but I did enjoy it.

I love the idea of Clemence Organics' Ultimate Biome Spray. My skin's acid mantle is one of my main focuses (it's currently not in the best shape), and I'm very into trying products that are meant to support it. I don't feel like the Ultimate Biome Spritz had a big impact on my skin's health, but I did think it was a very nice hydrating mist. If eco-luxe or holistic beauty is up your alley this is a brand worth looking into.

I am grieving. MAC's Half n Half and I have had a journey. I still look back on the day I got it fondly - I had three other shades in mind, but ended up settling on Half n Half with the help of the only MAC employee to ever be nice to me. My mother, at the time, said this pink tinged brown nude was the ugliest lipstick she'd ever seen. Then went on to compliment it every time I wore it. We had a really nice day that day - so on top of loving this lipstick for what it is, it also serves as a memory of a fun day out with my mum. I think I might keep this empty tube.

Pixi's Rose Caviar Essence was super underwhelming for me. This flower oil infused serum has been so hyped up on instagram and beauty blogs and I don't get it. Each application felt like a splash of water on the face - refreshing, but then, nothing. I saw zero benefits from using Rose Caviar Essence. I finished the tube, so as to not be wasteful, but I wouldn't repurchase or recommend it. Pixi rarely disappoints me, but it disappointed me here.

Another Morgan empty. I loved Neutrogena's Beach Defence SPF 50 Sunscreen for like two years before my skin started to react badly to it. I've since moved on (for face SPF, for body I still use this), but Morgan still uses and loves it for his daily sunscreen. Another two bottles have already been purchased.

Sukin Oil Balancing Purifying Gel Cleanser*
One more empty from Morgan - Sukin's Oil Balancing Purifying Gel Cleanser. This charcoal infused cleanser does a nice job of cutting through sunscreen, sweat, and sebum to keep his skin clear. He's already repurchased.

Aesthetically, I loved Bath&BodyWorks' Pink Pineapple candle - who can say no to that millenial pink jar? The scent, however, wasn't my favorite. To me, this candle smelled more like grapefruit than pineapple, but it doesn't really matter considering how poor it's scent throw was. I'll gladly keep the jar, but I wouldn't repurchase this candle.

Soap&Glory Hand Food Hand Cream*
I've gone through countless tubes of Soap&Glory's Hand Food Hand Cream, and I don't intend to stop. I'm currently using a different hand cream, and while it's quite nice, it doesn't give me the same sensorial satisfaction that Hand Food does. I love the fragrance, the texture, the packaging, and the price. I'll certainly be picking up another tube in the future.

Daily Naturals Leave in Masque
I received a couple samples of Daily Naturals' Leave in Masque and it is terrible. This masque absolutely fucked my hair. Though it seemed relatively light weight, and I avoided my roots during application, this leave in masque added so much weight to my hair, it took several washes for it to fully recover. Yes, it did deep condition, but at what cost? Stringy flat hair for days? Not for me. If you have very dry or damaged hair, this may be for you, but it was far too much for me.

Palmer's Natural Fusions Rose&Coconut Body Lotion^
I absolutely blew through Palmer's Natural Fusions Rose&Coconut Body Lotion! I can't remember the last time I emptied a full size body lotion so quickly?? Apart from the beautiful dark floral packaging, nothing about this lotion stood out to me - the scent was pleasant but kind of bland, the texture and moisturization were pretty average. I wouldn't personally repurchase this product, but it is nice enough.

Products marked with an ^ were sent to me as press samples.
