Derma Energy Clean with Envy Cleanser Review

Derma Energy Clean with Envy Cleanser Review
Derma Energy says "This energy enhancing cleanser will clean and invigorate your skin. Use every morning and evening. Luxuriously foaming, Clean With Envy instantly lifts dirt, grime and oil from the skin for an enviable complexion. Ideal for all skin types." This cleanser contains a plentiful 200ml of product and retails for $39 on the brand's website. Derma Energy does not test on animals. The brand doesn't specify where their cleanser was manufactured, but I can tell you that Derma Energy is based here in Australia.

The Clean with Envy Cleanser comes in a tall white squeeze tube with the product name printed all over the front in bold green and grey lettering. The opposite side of the tube offers a full ingredient list and a brief product description. Packaging does not seem to be recyclable.

Derma Energy's Clean with Envy Cleanser is a thin, clear gel that works into a light, easily rinsed lather. This is a straight forward face wash that does a great job as a morning or second cleanse - I wouldn't recommend it as a first cleanse, since it's pretty much useless at makeup removal. In my experience, this cleanser has been non-drying, it balances my skin quite nicely, actually. It's hard to find more to say about this cleanser - it's quite simple. I can say that Clean with Envy has carried me through my multi-month battle with fungal acne. I don't credit it with curing my fungal acne, but it also didn't make it worse, which was kinda what mattered more at the time.

Clean with Envy has a base of water and four common surfactants - three on the gentle side of the spectrum. Following the cleansing agents are texture enhancers, fragrance in the form of grapefruit oil and perfume, and preservatives. Though this cleanser contains two fragrance ingredients, the vaguely citrus scent is barely perceptible.

Just a quick side note, before we wrap up. Clean with Envy is meant to be used with Derma Energy's Derma Brush, a silicon cleansing tool. I'm not personally into it - I have nothing against it, it just doesn't suit my needs and preferences.

I like Derma Energy's Clean with Envy Cleanser, it's been good to my skin during some difficult periods. I don't think anything about this product stands out, it's quite basic in both formula and function. Honestly, I think Clean with Envy is quite pricey for what it is, so I wouldn't repurchase it. If you're curious about Derma Energy products, I think Clean with Envy is a good place to start, but if you're just looking for a simple face wash, there are more affordable options out there.

Update (July 2019)
Derma Energy has reduced the price of this cleanser down to a much more reasonable $19.
