Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil Review

Derma E says their Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil is a "rinse-free cleansing oil" that "leaves your skin feeling superbly moisturized, along with an improved soft and dewy appearance." This cleansing oil was raved about by Jennifer Wan, so I had to try it. The Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil contains 60ml (2 fl oz) and retails for $24.99 at Priceline, where it frequently goes on sale. Derma E products are cruelty free and vegan. This product was made in the USA.

Derma E's Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil comes in a clear glass bottle with a user-friendly white pump cap. A white label wraps around the bottle, offering a product description and directions. This product's straightforward packaging is recyclable.

The Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil is a yellow, lightweight, dry textured oil - it's a very unique consistency, it feels very different from other cleansing oils I've tried.  I need quite a lot of it, I typically use 4-5 pumps for a thorough cleanse. This cleansing oil is fairly effective, removing approximately 90% of my makeup, and loosens up the rest nicely. The Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil emulsifies well, and removes easily with either hands or a wash cloth. Derma E says you don't have to rinse this cleansing oil, but I strongly disagree (at least if you're using it for makeup removal), so I'm just gonna pretend they didn't say that. I haven't noticed any positive or negative changes in my skin while using Derma E's Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil, but I've used it purely for makeup removal. It seems to be softening, and hasn't caused or aggravated any acne. It's a cleansing oil, it does it's job and no more.

This cleansing oil has a pretty simple formula. The Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil is made up of caprylic/capric triglyceride, a coconut glycerin hybride, jojoba oil, and argan oils. A couple of emulsifiers follow, with vitamin e and a natural fragrance finishing off the ingredient list. I assume that natural fragrance is mainly a rose oil, as this cleansing oil has a light, natural, and luxe rose scent. I feel like the name of this product is a little misleading, considering it contains no specific rose ingredients.

I like Derma E's Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil, but not enough to buy it again. I feel like the value of this cleansing oil is quite poor, you get relatively little for the high-for-the-drugstore price, and you'll likely go through it quite quickly - I did. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but I don't feel like it's a particularly special product. I think your money could be better spent elsewhere in Derma E's range, or on a more affordable cleansing oil like Palmer's Ultra Gentle Cleansing Oil or Simple's Hydrating Cleansing Oil.
