Out with the Old - January 2019 Empties

My January Empties are an extremely belated, but they're here nonetheless! I considered combining them with my February empties into a super post, but decided against it because I feared that it would end up unreadably long. I finished ten products in the month of January, click through to read mini reviews (with full reviews linked where applicable) on them all. As always, products I plan to repurchase or already have a backup of will be marked with an asterisk (*).

Batiste Luxe Dry Shampoo*
Yinz know I finish a bottle of Batiste Dry Shampoo pretty much every month, and this month I used up Luxe, one of the brand's newer (and better, in my opinion!) scents. As always, this dry shampoo did an excellent job at sopping up excess oil and making my hair look and smell socially acceptable between washes. A forever repurchase!

Sukin is usually a great brand for me, but their Super Greens Cleansing Oil is probably the worst oil cleanser I've tried. This thick, heavily fragranced cleansing oil was very ineffective at removing my makeup, and broke me out badly. I poured the remain contents out and destashed it to avoid the temptation of giving it another chance.

Pür Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 Palette ^
I've been trying to get more use out of Pür's Love Your Selfie 2 palette over the last month or so, and I just don't vibe with it. While I haven't delved much into the face products in this palette, I can tell you that the eyeshadows are pretty nice - medium pigment, easily blendable, decent wear time, but the color story of this palette just isn't for me. Since I've barely used it, I'll probably pass this on to my sister in law.

OXX Melon Crush Bath Fizzer
I bought this OXX Melon Crush Bath Fizzer on a whim at Kmart when I felt the need for a treat-yo-self night. This bath bomb turned my bath water into a beautiful deep teal shade, but it didn't smell like melons. This bath bomb straight up smelled like dill pickles - and funnily enough, I didn't mind that. I wouldn't buy it again, but it wasn't bad.

Cutex Nourishing Nail Polish Remover*
Not much to say about this. Cutex has always been my preferred nail polish remover brand, as it's affordable and effective. I've already purchased another bottle.

Lypsyl's Intense Protection Lip Balm is a nice daily lip balm that kept my lips protected and well hydrated. I feel like my first tube of this lip balm lasted me much longer than most do, but otherwise it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. Lypsyl sent me two tubes, so I have another waiting in the wings when I finish my current lip balm from Abnomoly.

Bath&BodyWorks I'm Really a Mermaid Pocket Bac
I picked up Bath&BodyWorks' I'm Really a Mermaid hand sanitizer at the start of summer and blew through it! This hand sanitizer was delightfully fruity without being too strong, and I enjoyed the aqua color and fishtail print label. Very cute, I loved it!

Pixi Rose Tonic*^
Pixi's Rose Tonic was nice for me, but it isn't my favorite hydrating toner. I liked using Rose Tonic in the morning, in place of a cleanse, to swipe away any oil and sweat while infusing a bit of hydration into the skin. I don't think I'd repurchase this toner, but Pixi kindly sent me another bottle of it recently, so I'll continue to use it for now.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
I had a complicated relationship with Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner. I loved the applicator, but was less than thrilled with the formula, which wasn't dark enough or as long lasting as I'd hoped. I ended up using this liquid liner to draw my initial line, and then I'd pat a black shadow over it to increase intensity and longevity. It's safe to say I won't be repurchasing, as I don't need my eyeliner routine to become even more complicated.

Dusk Fresh Coffee Candle*
I'm a lover of all things coffee scented, so I couldn't resist picking up Dusk's Fresh Coffee candle during a recent(ish) sale. The slightly creamy coffee scent was glorious, but unfortunately this single wick candle had really poor scent throw and could barely fragrance my tiny kitchen. I want to pick up the three wick version to see if it'll have a stronger scent - I hope so, because I find Fresh Coffee almost intoxicating.
