New Discoveries - August 2018

It's been a month or two since I've posted a New Discoveries - it's not that I haven't been trying anything new, just nothing has struck a (good) chord with me lately. I'm not sure if I'm becoming jaded, picky, or my skin has just gone to shit, but a lot of products haven't been impressing me lately - at least not enough to feature in a New Discoveries post. That changed recently, as these three products have come into my life and I'm thoroughly enjoying them! Click through to read more about August's New Discoveries.

Arcona Four O'Clock Flower Cleansing Cream
Arcona is a brand that I've had my eye on for a while, so I was thrilled to win their newest cleanser in a giveaway from OMGBart! I love a creamy clay cleanser, and the Four O'Clock Flower Cleansing Cream is the nicest one I've tried in a while. I've been using this lightweight cream cleanser most mornings to start my skin off on a well hydrated, balanced note. This creamy cleanser leaves my skin soft and calm, with reduced redness.

Kiehls' Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment*
Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is a classic eye cream that spent a couple years on my wishlist before I received it in a VoxBox last month, and it couldn't have come at a better time. For some reason this (relatively mild) winter has been rough on my eyes, and I've been suffering from eczema on my eyelids. Kiehl's exceedingly rich Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment has been so soothing and hydrating; the majority of my eyelid eczema has cleared up since I started using it. Because this eye cream is so rich, I find that I can get a little puffy around the eye if I use too much, but honestly I'd rather be a bit puffy than itchy and dry. I've also been loving the Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment as something of a lip sleeping mask - I slather a bit on after brushing my teeth and I've had nothing but soft, hydrating lips. I can see why this is one of Kiehl's best sellers!

Sukin Anti-Pollution Face Masque
My skin has been in a bad way lately (mostly due to a different Sukin product, actually), it's congested, with itchy pimples that didn't want to go away. I picked up the charcoal infused Anti-Pollution Face Masque during Priceline's last offer on Sukin, and my skin has been clearing up quick. This dense clay and charcoal mask is excellent at sucking all the gunk out of my pores without drying my skin out - it's slotted into my daily routine quite nicely.
