Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum Review

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum Review
Hey Honey says their Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum is "a light and luxurious moisturizing serum that doubles as an under-makeup primer. Replenishes and protects to improve tone for elegantly glowing skin.Rich moisturizers and nutrients such as honey, silk amino acids, sea buckthorn oil, and Vitamin E provide intense moisture for radiantly smooth skin. Wear it by itself or under your day cream." The Good Morning Honey Silky Facial Serum contains 30ml (1 fl oz) and retails for $45 at Ulta, Duane Reade, and Dermstore. I received a generous 10ml sample in an Ipsy Bag a while back, and have been using it every morning for at least two months. Hey Honey does not test on animals, though their honey and propolis formulas obviously aren't vegan. I've contacted the company to learn more about their honey sourcing and bee care, so hopefully I'll be able to include that information into the post.

The full size of the Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum is housed in a plastic pump bottle, though truthfully I'm more than pleased with this little squeeze tube (but I almost always prefer a squeeze tube!). Labeling on this deluxe sample is quite simple, with the product name printed on the front, and directions for use (and a honey allergen warning) on the back. Packaging does not seem to be recyclable.

Hey Honey's Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum is a silky, lightweight yellow gel cream that glides over the skin and sinks in very quickly. Immediately this serum imparts a gorgeous natural radiance that's not quite dewy- I'd almost describe it as glossy. Regardless of what adjective I choose to use, the finish of Hey Honey's Good Morning Serum is stunning. I'm currently going through a seemingly random bad skin phase, but when my skin was clear, I would rely on just this serum alone for glowing skin. Though it's marketed as a moisturizing serum, I would say that the Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum is only lightly hydrating - it's not enough for me to rely on alone, it's more of a hydration booster for me, but if you have combo or oily skin, this serum could easily replace your day time moisturizer. I've just about finished my deluxe sample after about two months of daily use, and I don't feel like Hey Honey's serum has had any long term benefits, but it makes my skin LOOK so beautiful every time I use it! It's like a perfect makeup/skincare hybrid, on a similar tier as my beloved Pixi Flawless&Poreless Primer. I love it.

The Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum has a hydrating water, silicone, aloe, and glycerin base, pumped up with tons of hydrating ingredients, including but not limited to squalane, honey, jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, and soy bean oil. Antioxidants like allantoin and panthenol make an appearance in the middle of the ingredient list, helping to further nourish the skin. A small amount of fragrance is included, but I can't really detect a scent. Typically I'd be a little more critical of the fact that a serum contains two different silicones, which can reduce the efficacy of actives and products layered on top, I'll let it slip when it comes to the Good Morning Honey Silk serum, seeing as it's more of a makeup/skincare hybrid than a true serum.

Before I wrap this post up, I just wanted to quickly add in that I contacted Hey Honey about their propolis and honey sourcing, and while they didn't go into great detail that did assure me that their bee derived ingredients come from bees kept in humane conditions. I've recommended that the brand offers more information about their honey sourcing on their website, to make information more easily available to consumers.

I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy Hey Honey's Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum - what a great introduction to the brand! This hydrating serum was a fantastic addition to my morning skincare routine! Though the Good Morning Honey Silk serum is far from the most potent, active serum on the market, its a quick way to achieve soft, glowing skin. I only have a couple more uses left in my deluxe sample, and I'll grieve a little when I finish it! I'd buy Hey Honey's Good Morning Honey Silk Serum if it were easily available in Australia (they do offer international shipping!), but until then I'll be on the lookout for a dupe! If you love dewy skin, this is a product worth considering!
