Out with the Old - April 2018 Empties

After several months of massive empties post, things have calmed down a bit. I ended up finishing an average amount of products in April - 13. Sheet masks and skincare make up the majority of what I've finished, along with my monthly can of dry shampoo, but there are also a few more interesting bits within my April empties. As always, reviews will be linked where available, and the products I intend to repurchase will be marked with an asterisk (*). Click through to read more.

A completely average, somewhat hydrating sheet mask. I had such a great experience with When's Snow Magic Sheet Mask last month that I expected to be blown away by Travelmate, but in reality it was only alright. Hydrating, but otherwise unremarkable.

When 10:00PM Sheet Mask^
Copy/Paste from above, really. 10:00PM and Travelmate have literally the exact same formula, just different exterior packaging. I think its so cheap and sketchy when a brand does that. Once again, hydrating but unremarkable.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted Body Spray
This sweet strawberry scented body spray was gifted to me last year, and while I didn't LOVE the scent, I did think it was nice enough to go through an entire bottle. I was very generous with Wonderstuck Enchanted because the scent was quite light and short lived - I'm pretty sure it only lasted half an hour or so on me. I wouldn't repurchase, and I'd recommend the actual perfume if you dig the scent.

Bath&BodyWorks Watermelon Splash Bath Fizzy
Wow what a disappointing bath bomb - probably the worst I've ever used. I went to a store opening at the beginning of the month and received a $100 gift voucher, and I unwisely spent $14 of that money on this terrible bath bomb. The name "Watermelon Splash" sounds super enticing, but this bath fizzy gave off no discernible scent, while tinting my bath water the color of backed up toilet water. It was ugly and underwhelming, and it imparted no moisturizing ingredients into the water, unlike the significantly more affordable Lush bath bombs we've all come to love. I can't believe I just called Lush bath bombs affordable...but really, this was fourteen fucking dollars and that's just too much. What are you thinking Bath&BodyWorks???

I thoroughly enjoyed Sukin's Detoxifying Clay Masque and now that it's gone I really miss it! This creamy clay mask was great for sorting my skin out - it soaked up extra oil where I needed it to, while hydrating areas in need. I'm exploring some other clay masks at the moment, but I can see myself going back to the Super Greens mask in the future.

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Shampoo
L'Oreal's Extraordinary Oil Shampoo was my go to shampoo for about a year before it just stopped working for me. All of a sudden the shampoo that kept my hair glossy and detangled started to cause it to dry out and tangle. I'm not sure what triggered the change, perhaps it was the stress and climate change of moving from Adelaide back to Sydney, or my hair just got used to it. I shelved the remainders of my bottle and forgot about it til a few weeks ago when I decided to just finish it off. I only got two more washes out of it, and they didn't disrupt my hair. In fact, I felt a ton of nostalgia for the scent. I wouldn't repurchase the Extraordinary Oil Shampoo, but I have fond memories of it.

Mizon Enjoy Vital Up Time Watery Sheet Mask x3*
I picked up two of Mizon's sheet masks at my most recent trip to Mecca, so I didn't look like that guy when I redeemed my birthday gift. Morgan and I used them that night, and we both loved it! This sheet mas was very hydrating, leaving us both with bouncy, glowy skin. I'll definitely be picking up a few more of these ultra affordable masks - they're only $2AUD! Nothing costs $2AUD. Except these great sheet masks.

My Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector is a little sentimental for me! This was my first every Clarins product, a gift from Dean on my 23rd birthday. This go-with-anything gloss lived in my bag, which you'll remember if you read my Beauty in my Bag post. This gloss and I have been places and done things together, it's almost like a friend. I hope to buy another Instant Light Lip Perfector in the future, they're a great product, but I'll probably try a different shade next time.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara
There's been loads of hype about the Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara in the blogging world, and I don't get it? This mascara was kinda awful. The formula was super wet, extra clumpy, and difficult to remove (this isn't even the waterproof version!). The packaging is gorgeous, and it's never once flaked on me, but this mascara was not great for me.

Batiste Eden Dry Shampoo*
I'm a long time lover of Batiste Dry Shampoos, but I rarely branched out and tried new scents, unless they were sent to me. During Priceline's recent 40% off hair care sale, I decided to try three new scents, Eden being among them. I powered through this dry shampoo in like three weeks (as usual) and came to love it's soft, nondescript floral scent and grandmotherly aesthetic. I have a few other bottles to use up first, but I think Eden is a candidate for repurchase.

Indeed Labs NanoBlur
I couldn't get a good judgement on Indeed Lab's NanoBlur primer because my tube came completely dried out. I bought a sampler of three mini Indeed Labs products during a Priceline sale which included this 5ml tube. While the other two products were perfectly functional, this primer had solidified in the tube. Though it feels wasteful, NanoBlur is going in the bin unused.

Simple's Hydrating Cleansing Oil's name says it all - it's simple, it's hydrating, and its an efficient cleansing oil that removes at least 90% of product on it's own. This drugstore cleansing oil is super affordable, so I didn't mind finishing the bottle quickly. I'm not going to run out and repurchase Simple's cleansing oil, as I'm trying a couple different products at the moment, but I think this is a great budget pick, and will maybe repurchase somewhere down the line.

Derma E Hydrating Night Cream^
A rich yet somehow light moisturizer, Derma E's Hydrating Night Cream was a hit in my house - both Morgan and I loved this soothing and effective moisturizer - so much so that we absolutely flew through it. I won't say more as I have a full review waiting in my queue, so keep an eye out for that!

What have you finished lately?
