Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque Review

Sukin says "our clay based Masque contains Kale, Goji Berry and Bentonite and is enriched with vitamins and antioxidants to detox, brighten the complexion and minimise the appearance of fine lines. Avocado, Baobab and Rosehip Oils promote an even skin tone through intensive hydration properties. Skin is replenished, contributing towards maintaining youthful, glowing skin." The Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque contains 100ml (3.38oz) and retails for $16.95 at Priceline in Australia, or for £11.95 at Boots in the UK - Sukin's website also offers worldwide shipping. This Melbourne based green beauty brand focus on making clean, vegan, and carbon neutral products at an affordable price point. This clay mask was made in Australia.

The Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque comes in a brown plastic pot with a screw off lid. A jewel toned green label wraps around the jar, offering a product description, directions, and a full ingredient list. While I'm usually not a fan of jar packaging for skincare, I do think it suits this particular product, which would be difficult to squeeze out of a tube or pump out of a bottle. Packaging is 100% recyclable.

Sukin's Detoxifying Clay Masque is a thick and creamy grey clay mask that spreads easily and evenly over clean, dry skin. This rich mask takes about 20 minutes to dry down, never becoming stiff and crumbly. Despite drying softly, the Super Greens mask is difficult to rinse without using a washcloth. The Detoxifying Clay Masque is less drying than most clay masks, actually I find it surprisingly hydrating and softening. Each application results in soft, even skin with reduced redness. This mask isn't the best for oil control, when compared to other clay masks, but it will absorb some excess oil without stripping the skin - if you're hesitant to use clay masks because you're afraid of drying your skin out, Sukin's Super Greens mask is a great pick for you. Because the Detoxifying Clay Masque doesn't crumble off the skin, I really like using it as a spot treatment for oily, oozy blemishes - sometimes I even sleep with it dotted on my pimples to help them run their course a little faster.

The Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque features a base of water, kaolin and bentonite clays, and some basic texture enhancers. Though the base of this mask is simple, it's loaded with fantastic botanical oils and extracts to nourish the skin. Avocado and rose hip oils, paired with Vitamin E hydrate the skin deeply while antioxidant rich goji berry, parsley, and kale extracts impart vitamins and minerals into the skin. I must stress that the topical benefits of these 'superfood' ingredients aren't well proven, but they're also non-irritating - I take a no harm, no foul stance on them. For their full benefits I definitely recommend eating plenty of kale and parsley instead of depending on them in your skincare. My only complaint about this product's ingredient list is the inclusion of fragrance, which has an artificial cherry scent that's reminiscent of Twizzlers. I kinda like it, though the product would be better off without it.

I really like Sukin's Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque! This mask is great for balancing the skin, soaking up extra oil while hydrating and soothing the skin. I've nearly finished this excellent mask, and I think I'll end up repurchasing it eventually, but first I want to try the rest of Sukin's masks. Can you tell I'm enthralled by this brand? If you have normal to combo skin and are in need of a clay mask, the Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque is an excellent, reasonably priced choice that I'd definitely recommend.
