Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads Review

A couple of years ago, I was a dedicated user of Nip+Fab's Glycolic Fix Pads. Every other month you'd see an empty tub in my Out with the Old post. That changed when I packed up and moved to Australia, where these exfoliating toner pads are not double, but triple the price.  After nearly a year without Nip+Fab pads in my life, I couldn't ignore the hole in my heart skincare routine, so I forked out the big bucks on a tub of their Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads. According to Nip+Fab, the Glycolic Fix Night Extreme Pads are their "A more potent version of our bestselling glycolic fix pads, these extreme night pads contain our highest level of glycolic acid at 5% and have been further enhanced with the addition of salicylic acid, making these your ultimate night treatment to refine pores, brighten the complexion and de-congest the skin through the improvement of the skin’s natural exfoliation process." Each tub contains 60 pre-soaked pads and retails for $34.99AUD (just $14.99 in the USA, or £14.99 in the UK). Nip+Fab is cruelty free, with a majority of their products (including this one) being vegan friendly. The Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads are made in the UK.

Nip+Fab's Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads come in a convenient plastic tub with a screw top lid. An attractive navy blue and orange label wraps about the functional tub, offering lots of product information, directions for use, and a full ingredient list. There's not much more to say about such simple packaging, but I will offer a little bit of advice - store the container upside down to keep these pads a little more saturated. All packaging is recyclable.
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads
Nip+Fab's Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads are thin, softly textured, well saturated single use pads that couldn't be easier to use. Just swipe each side over the face and neck, and toss. How could it be easier, I mean really? I experience only the vaguest tingling sensation upon application (though I'm used to acid exfoliation, if this is your first glycolic product or you have sensitive skin, you may experience a stronger stinging sensation). Nip+Fab recommends using their Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads two or three times a week, or only once a week if you're sensitive, but I reach for these toner pads pretty much every night. Notice I say night. Nip+Fab's acid pads, and all AHA exfoliants, are best used at night time, and should always be followed with SPF the next morning.

I see overnight results from Nip+Fab's Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads. Just one use left my skin looking brighter and smoother, and after a few months of use, I've seen some impressive changes in my skin. My acne scars are close to gone (this isn't a miracle product, I've been working at them for a long time, but these pads have really sped up the process!), my skin tone is more even, and I break out far less frequently. I haven't had any adverse reactions like redness, peeling, or increased sensitivity. I think my toner quest might've finally come to an end.

The Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads are definitely a step up from Nip+Fab's regular Glycolic  Fix Pads, both in efficacy and quality of the formula. The Extreme Night formula boasts more than double the acid content, without the harsh denatured alcohol included in the original formula. So let's take a closer look at the ingredients. These acids toning pads are soaked in a blend of water and glycolic acid (5% concentration), with soothing glycerin and do-it-all niacinamide to soothe the skin. Following the preservative phenoxyethanol (>1%), you'll find all your other favorite acids - AHAs mandelic and lactic acid to exfoliate, salicylic acid to fight acne, and hydrating hyaluronic acid attract and maintain moisture, as well as panthenol (vitamin b5) to nourish the skin. While I haven't tested it myself, I've done some research and all signs point to Nip+Fab's Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads to be within the proper pH range (most sources show 4-4.5pH) for all of the acids to work their magic. My only gripe with this product's formulation is the inclusion of fragrance and fragrant essential oils that pose the risk of irritation. The aforementioned ingredients give the Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads a sharp, acidic citrus scent.
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads Review
I thought I couldn't love a product more than Nip+Fabs' Glycolic Fix Pads, until I upgraded to the "Extreme Night" version. I would hardly call a 5% glycolic concentration "extreme", so much as "adequate", but the name would be far less catchier, so I'll let Nip+Fab get away with it. I love this product's combination of AHA and BHA acids for multi-level exfoliation, and I can't argue with the inclusion of niacinamide. Really, the formula is brilliant, and better than pretty much any comparable product at the drugstore. All and all, these toner pads have visibly improved my skin, making Nip+Fab's Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads a definite repurchase (I'm on my second tub already); they're well worth the price.

  1. I didn't see any difference with the original pads, maybe it was the alcohol content that didn't go well with my dry skin? These do sound far better, and I would definitely give them a try xx

    1. The original pads did improve my skin overtime, but no where near as much as these "extreme" pads have. I hope they work well for you!
