L'Oreal Ice True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator Review+Swatches

L'Oreal says their new True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminators are "specifically crafted to highlight key features or illuminate all over." These liquid highlighters are available in three shades, I only picked up Ice (it was a tough call!). The True Match Lumi Liquid Illuminators contain 20ml (.66 fl oz) and sell for between $10-14 at drugstores and major retailers. L'Oreal is not cruelty free. This highlighter was made in America.
The True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminators come in color matched, opaque, flattened squeeze tubes with mirrored caps. The L'Oreal logo and product name are printed on the front of the tube; directions, ingredients, and an easy to follow diagram can be found on the back of the tube. This product's packaging does not seem to be recyclable.
L'Oreal' liquid highlighters have a thin cream consistency, making them a breeze to apply and blend - I recommend using your fingers or a damp sponge. Be sure to apply this illuminator before any powder products, it sits very poorly over powders, balling up and looking obvious and textured. This product was a little difficult for me to summarise, because its so...flexible? Ice's effect is highly variable depending on much you apply and how well you blend it; Ice can range from a subtle hint of shimmer to a full on strobe. This highlighter is quite reflective and will really catch the light - it's much stronger than the powder version of this product. In spite of it's high shimmer content, I don't feel like this liquid illuminator accentuates pores or textural problems - I have large pores on my nose, but I highlight the bridge of my nose with this product all the time and it looks fine. The only thing I don't like about L'Oreal's True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator is it's lasting power, or lack there of  - I feel like Ice loses most of it's oomph after four or five hours. This highlighter is fragrance free but it kinda smells like chardonnay.
L'Oreal Ice/Benefit High Beam Dupe
Ice is an icy, light silvery pink with lots of fine silver shimmer - the finish is pretty dang frosty. This shade is designed for cool skin tones and will suit pretty much anyone in that demographic, and most people with neutral complexion as well, I don't think it'd be quite as flattering to warm skin though.

Ice is quite similar to Benefit's High Beam, a cult classic, and one of my favorite highlighters. The color is nearly identical, but Ice is frostier, while High Beam is more glowy.
L'Oreal's True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator is pretty good. This highlight is easy to work with and it'll definitely give you a distinct glisten. Ice is a silvery pink that'll work for cool skin tones, from the fairest to the deepest. Though its not a full on dupe, L'Oreal's Ice is really similar to High Beam, and honestly you don't have to own both. Both the liquid and powder version of L'Oreal's True Match Lumi Glow Illuminators are worth trying, especially if you can get them for a deal.
