It Cosmetics Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara Review

It Cosmetics says their Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara "makes the look of false lashes easy and accessible! This 6-in-1, clinically shown 24-hour wear mascara features the blackest black melted nylon fibers infused into our volumizing, lash-loving and award-winning Hello Lashes Mascara so you can achieve long, thick and dramatic lashes in one quick coat application! A 430% increase in lash volume and 114% increase in lash length! The perfect alternative to complicated false lashes and expensive lash extensions, this innovative formula is your volumizing mascara, lash primer, lash enhancing treatment, long wear lash tint, lash comb, and now it’s your look of false lashes without the fumbling! Infused with lash-enhancing and conditioning ingredients, including vitamin B5, peptides, collagen, proteins and green tea to treat your lashes while you call beautiful attention to your eyes!" The Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara is available in two sizes - the full sized tube costs $24, and the travel size sells for a much more wallet friendly $10. I was lucky enough to get a travel sized tube of Hello Lashes as a GWP with an Ulta order. It Cosmetics is cruelty free. This mascara was made in the USA.
While it was quite a pain to photograph, I gotta say that the travel sized packaging for the Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara is pretty nice! This miniature mascara tube is made of a weighty, reflective silver plastic - the It Cosmetics logo and product name printed on it in black lettering.

I've heard a lot of bloggers say that the Hello Lashes brush is interesting, and I agree. This mascara wand is about an inch long, with basic, evenly spaced, short rubber bristles - a brush that's average in every way except for the spiky, medieval flail like ball on the tip. This round implement can be used in a variety of ways; to catch and coat the tiny lower and inner corner lashes, or it can be wedged into the roots of the lashes to really build up some volume. All up, a great multifunctional brush that's easier to use then it seems. Packaging does not seem to be recyclable.
I hated It Cosmetics' Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara at first! The thin, wet formula did nothing for me, so I tossed it into my mascara drawer for a few weeks to let it thicken up - and now I quite like it! The moist formula is still a bit on the thin side, in spite of it's plentiful fibers. I'm struggling to describe the effect you can expect from Hello Lashes, because it varies significantly depending on how and how much you apply. One or two coats will deliver a natural, wispy lash look, but 3 to 5 coats can provide a lot of drama without any clumps! Seriously, the Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara has never produced a single clump on my lashes. This mascara needs to be built up slowly, letting each coat dry partially in between. With a slow and precise application, this deep black mascara will build up good length and volume, but unfortunately it won't hold a curl at all! I curl my lashes before and after I apply It Cosmetics' Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara and my eyelashes still end up straight as an arrow. I guess that's to be expected from a fiber mascara with a wet formula. Speaking of fibers, I need to say that this is one of the least problematic fiber mascaras ever! The nylon extension fibers are not visible on the lashes, and they rarely flake off. For the most part, I get good wear out of this mascara, it lasts a full day without smudging or any significant flaking - though you may end up with a black fiber on your cheek here or there. This mascara removes quite easily with cleanser or a dedicated makeup remover.
It Cosmetics' Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara is a good, versatile mascara, but I just don't have the patience to slowly apply four coats every day! The brush is just as interesting as every blogger says it is, that ball on the tip is useful! If you want a dependable fiber mascara, I do recommend Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara - but of course buy the sample tube first! Personally, I won't be repurchasing this mascara, but I will enjoy what's left in my little tube.
