Julie G Damsel Nail Color Review+Swatches

Jesse's Girl+Julie G say "you won't be a damsel in distress with this mid toned pink creme." Damsel is one of the newest shades added to Julie G's core Nail Color Collection. Each of these polishes contains 10ml (.35 fl oz) and sell for $3.99 at Rite Aid and Jesse's Girl's website. I received Damsel in my April Ipsy Bag. Jesse's Girl products are cruelty free and American made.

The Julie G Nail Colors come in chunky, square glass bottles topped with a white plastic cap. The Julie G logo is printed on the front of the bottle, the shade name and ingredient list can be found on the back. This polish has a long, narrow, rounded brush that's perfect for my itty bitty nail beds, but may be a hassle for those with average or large nails. My only gripe about the packaging is that the cap detaches from the top of the brush, which is super inconvenient. Packaging is not recyclable.
Julie G's Damsel has a really nice formula! This thin lacquer applies evenly  - two coats, full opacity, no streaks. Perfect. Damsel dries at a pretty average pace, its dry to the touch after about five minutes. I don't get great wear from this polish, it starts to chip on me after about a day and a half, and sometimes it peels straight off if overexposed to water. That being said, most nail polishes wear poorly for me and only last a day or two, so I guess Damsel is par for the course. I should also mention, that while Damsel still smells like nail polish, the scent is less potent than most, so if you're scent sensitive, you may want to look into Julie G's polishes.

Damsel is a cool, magenta pink with a shiny cream finish. Not really my color, personally, but its definitely a crowd pleaser. Damsel is similar to Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel polish in Pink Tank, but not a dupe. Pink Tank is a bit deeper with more red to it.

Jesse's Girl + Julie G's Damsel Nail Color is good! The formula is easy to apply and dries quickly. I don't get the best wear from Damsel, but that isn't really the polish's fault, I just have shitty nails. Damsel is a great basic magenta shade - feminine and colorful without being too flashy. Pick this polish up if you like the color - the price is very reasonable for the quality of the formula! While I don't buy nail polish very often, I'll definitely keep this budget friendly range of polishes in mind if the mood strikes.
