Revlon Matte Charcoal PhotoReady Kajal Matte Eye Pencil Review+Swatches

Revlon Matte Charcoal PhotoReady Kajal Eye Pencil
Revlon's PhotoReady Kajal Matt Eye Pencils provide "highly pigmented color with matte finish that glides on effortlessly. Use the built in smudger to take it from precise to smoky in a matter of seconds. Soft kajal can be used to line the inner rim as well. All day wear. Opthalmologist tested." This pencil liner is available in four shades, my review is for Matte Charcoal. The PhotoReady Kajals contain 1.22 grams of product and sell for about $10 at the drugstore. Revlon is not cruelty free. This eyeliner was made in Italy.

Revlon Matte Charcoal PhotoReady Kajal Eye Pencil
Revlon' PhotoReady Kajals are standard wooden pencils with a color coordinating coating. The pencil is topped with a loose fitting cap that has a tendency to fall right off. A small foam smudger is attached to the base of Revlon's pencil. This eyeliner pencil sharpens very smoothly, but the tip is quite soft and will snap right off if you apply too much pressure to it, or sharpen it to too fine of a point. Packaging is recyclable.
Revlon's PhotoReady Kajal pencils have a great, powdery smooth texture. As I mentioned this pencil is super soft and it glides over the eyelid (or waterline) with ease, depositing an opaque layer of color in just one swipe. Like most kajal style eyeliners, Revlon's PhotoReady Kajals are quite smudgeable, so they're great for creating that smokey look. Unfortunately, this pencil's pliable nature doesn't lend it's self to long wear. Matte Charcoal lasts fairly well on the upper lash line - wearing for 7 hours with minimal smudging and some fading. However, on the lower lash line, this eyeliner tends to smear and run throughout the day - so if you want to wear Revlon's PhotoReady Kajal on the waterline, get ready to deal with some panda eyes. This pencil liner is not waterproof and is easily removed.

Matte Charcoal is a velvety matte, medium grey. Not quite dark enough to be called a charcoal in my opinion, it's much more of a slate, but let's not get too technical!
Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Eye Pencil Matte Grey Eyeliner
Revlon's PhotoReady Kajal jas great texture and color payoff, but the same can't be said for it's lasting power. This soft pencil fades and smudges throughout the day, and I can't recommend an eyeliner that doesn't have dependable wear - especially one that costs $10! What a shame too, this eyeliner definitely has some great qualities, as well as an interesting color selection - Matte Marine and Matte Lemon are so unique and pretty, I would've bought them if I'd had a better experience with Matte Charcoal.
