Rimmel Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder Review

Rimmel says their Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder is a "lightweight, smooth, and soft face powder. Matches skin's texture for a flawless and natural looking finish. Wears up to eight hours. Dermatologically tested." This loose powder is available in just one "shade" - translucent. The Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder contains 10 grams (.35 oz) of product and sells for $15AUD. This powder seems to be sold only in Australia and the UK, but you can also pick it up from ASOS for about $12 USD. Rimmel is not cruelty free. This loose powder was made in France.

Rimmel's Match Perfection Silky Loose Face powder comes in a round, plastic jar with a blue twist off cap. The Rimmel logo and product name are printed on the lid in silver lettering. Inside, you'll find a poor quality powder puff (that really isn't worth using), and a sifter. I suggest putting some tape over half of the sifter to prevent too much powder from coming out. A product description and full ingredient list can be found on the bottom of the jar. Packaging is recyclable.
This loose powder is very aptly named! Rimmel's powder is soft and finely milled, and not too messy - it doesn't fly about everywhere like some loose powders do (looking at you, ELF HD Powder). This powder's great texture doesn't stop in the jar - the Silky Loose Face Powder looks wonderful on the skin too! Rimmel's Match Perfection loose powder provides a smooth, even, and matte finish to the skin. This powder can cake up a little if you're heavy handed, but for the most part it comes across quite natural and never looks dry. Like most translucent powders, Rimmel's loose powder provides little to no coverage, but it will work wonder for setting your liquid and cream foundations. The Match Perfection powder isn't great for oil control, and it won't last all day on normal to oily skin. I usually need to reapply after five or six hours (which isn't exactly convenient, when it comes to a loose powder). Rimmel's Match Perfection Silky Look Face Powder has a mild (fruity?) fragrance that I don't notice after application.
Rimmel's Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder is nice! Its not amazing by any means, but it sets makeup well, providing a smooth, matte finish. You get a lot of product (10g) for a reasonable price (by Australian standards). I wouldn't rush out to repurchase the Silky Loose Face Powder, but I could see myself picking it up again in the future. This loose powder is worth checking out if it's available to you.
