Be a Bombshell Mascara Review

Be a Bombshell's Silhouette Mascara, formerly known as Lash Out, received so much bad press this summer that the brand renamed it (though they did not reformulate). Be a Bombshell describes their mascara as "rich, pigmented, mascara with a lengthening formula that offers a multidimensional look." The Silhouette Mascara contains 7 grams (.25 oz) and sells for $15. I received this mascara in an Ipsy Bag. Be a Bombshell is a cruelty free company. This mascara was made in China.

Be a Bombshell's mascara comes in a basic, black plastic tube, with the brand logo printed on it in silver lettering. This mascara has a super simple, traditional bristle brush, its just about identical to disposal spoolies. About an inch long, the short bristles spiral around the wand, which comes to a slight point. It doesn't really matter what the brush is like, seeing as it snapped off the cap and is now permanently wedged inside the bottle, Goodbye, brush. This seems to be a common problem. I've also seems a few people mention that their tube of Lash Out didn't even come with a brush at all!
The very first time I opened this tube of Be a Bombshell's mascara, I was shocked at how pungent it was - it smells like straight up petrochemicals. It is so gross. Against my better judgement, I decided to try this mascara a couple times, and let me just say that the formula is as bad as the odor! Be a Bombshell's mascara is extremely dry, it barely transfers on to the lashes - and its only gotten drier over time. The Silhouette Mascara can barely tint the lashes, let alone add length or volume. This extremely dry mascara flakes off within two hours, its a mess. I should also mention that just having this mascara near my eyes causes them to burn and water.
[This is two coats]
Be a Bombshell's Mascara may be one of the worst products I have ever tried. Packaging is very poor quality - the brush snapped right off. The dry, flaky formula smells awful and does nothing for the lashes. I'm tossing this mascara straight in the garbage where it belongs. Shame on Be a Bombshell for renaming this product instead of discontinuing or reformulating.
