DuWop Parasol Duet Eyeshadow Review+Swatches

DuWop's Duet Eyeshadows are "an enchanting combination of velvety smooth powder eyeshadows." This review features Parasol, a gorgeous and unique set of coral and grey shades. DuWop Duets contain 2.4 grams (.08 oz) and used to sell for $17. Unfortunately, these lovely eyeshadow duos have been discontinued, but they can still ve found online for between $2-30. I picked mine up at IMATS for $10. DuWop is cruelty free. This eyeshadow duo was made in America.

DuWop's Duet Eyeshadows come in simple, square pink bronze compacts. The brand logo and product name are printed on the front of the compact, the shade name is on the back. Inside this little compact are two semicircular pans of eyeshadow. Packaging is recyclable.
DuWop's Parasol Duet is downright lovely! The formula isn't anything out of the ordinary, in a good way. These powder eyeshadows are velvety soft, only a little bit powdery. Pigmentation is good, even better over a primer. DuWop's Eyeshadows are so nice to work with, they blend effortlessly and cause next to no fallout. I get good wear from Parasol, they last about seven or eight hours before they begin to fade.
I bought Parasol out of spite. While I was scoping out PM Studio's booth, the girl next to me picked up a tester of Parasol, swatched it, and turned to her friend and said "these are gross fucking ranga colors". Not quite sure if that was a dig at my lovely red hair, or not. But that's what got me interested - the color combo was kinda strange. At first I didn't like Parasol and struggled to wear the two shades together. I've now figured out a handful of looks that I really like!

Shade 1 is a pinky peach shade with a soft, shimmery finish. Revlon's ShadowLinks Eyeshadow in Melon is similar.

Shade 2 is a deep, grey leaning taupe. with a slight purple tinge and a frosted finish. Urban Decay's Darkside is a near dupe.
DuWop's Duet Eyeshadow in Parasol is pretty dang good! The eyeshadow formula is above average; soft, blendable, with good wear time. Parasol's two shades are an interesting pear! Peach and deep purply taupe? Cool stuff (and not just for gross redheads). Its a shame that DuWop has discontinued their Duet Eyeshadows, but they were a good intro to the brand, and I'd love to try more.

  1. Well you definitely are a ranga

  2. I am really digging the combination of peach and grey! I would have definitely want to give these a go if they were still around!

    1. They do still have eyeshadow duos, just not the ones I'm featuring.
