Revlon Romantic ColorBurst Balm Stain Review+Swatches

Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stains are "a lightweight lip stain + moisturizing balm for a perfect flush of color. Available in 10 craveable, collectible balm stain shades." I'll be reviewing Romantic, a gorgeous red. Each of these jumbo lip crayons contains 2.3 grams of product and sells for between $7-9. Revlon is not cruelty free. This lip product was made in America.

Just like the Matte Balms and Lacquer Balms, the Balm Stains come in color matched tubes. The product name and Revlon logo are printed on the front of the tube in silver lettering. The silver twist mechanism helps product scroll up smoothly, so no sharpening is required. The shade name and number can be found on the bottom of the tube.
The ColorBurst Balm Stain formula is pretty basic, but when it comes to jumbo lip crayons, that's far from a bad thing. As a whole, lip crayons are great and this is no exception! Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stain in Romantic may be the easiest red lip to apply - ever! This lipstick has sheer but very buildable color payoff in a slick, but not slippery formula that glides onto the lips smoothly and evenly. This lip crayon is light and comfortable, but I wouldn't call it moisturizing by any means. Romantic wears well, I get two to three hours of wear. This lip crayon doesn't transfer, or slip out of lip lines. Color fades away evenly, leaving behind a subtle but true to color stain that lasts another couple hours. Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stains have a minty scent and flavor.
[Two Layers]
Romantic is a sheer, slightly warm (but not orangey) red with a shimmer free, glossy finish. As I mentioned, color payoff is easy to build up to a strong red. Revlon's Romantic pairs beautifully with Benefit's BeneTint - a combo I use constantly.

I really enjoy Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stain in Romantic! I want more of these! This sheer red is so easy to apply and wear - a rarity for reds. This lip crayon is smooth and wears well - what's not to love? I'll definitely pick up more Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stains - I hear great stuff about Honey. I might even pick up a backup of Romantic; I may have to with how often I've been wearing it. If you want a sheer red with a great formula - this is it.
