Gilchrist&Soames London Body Lotion Review

Gilchrist&Soames is an English luxury bath and body brand that's frequently stocked in hotels, resorts, and spas. I received a small sample of their London Body Lotion in a Birchbox and didn't plan to review it, but I've been using it a lot lately and decided to share my thoughts. Gilchrist&Soames describes their London Body Lotion as having a "rich yet fast absorbing formulation" that "provides superior moisturizing with nutrient rich oils, humectants, and emollients to heal and protect skin." This body lotion is formulated without petrochemicals and other common, controversial ingredients, but is jam packed with beneficial natural extracts. The London Body Lotion contains 8 fl oz and costs $16. Gilchrist&Soames is proud to be cruelty free. This body lotion was made in America.

Gilchrist&Soames London Body Lotion has simple but attractive packaging. This lotion comes in a clear, cylindrical bottle with an open mouth dispenser. A black plastic cap loses off the bottle. A simple label is affixed to the front of the bottle bearing the Gilchrist&Soames logo and product name. A full ingredient label can be found on the back of the bottle. Packaging is recyclable.

Gilchrist&Soames London Body Lotion is a lightweight, thin, white lotion. This lotion spreads smoothly over the skin, feeling a little greasy upon application, but it sinks in quickly, leaving skin feeling quite silky and lightly moisturized. Something about this lotion is quite soothing, it feels particularly nice after a shave. This isn't a deeply hydrating lotion, so parched skin will require a more nourishing formula. My skin feels adequately moisturized for about eight hours after application.

Gilchrist&Soames describes their London scent as a "crisp, clean fragrance." That may seem vague, but so is the scent, honestly. Its light, slightly floral, just a little soapy, and very non-specific. Its pleasant, definitely a hotel-y scent that would please a lot of people. On me, the fragrance lasts about two or three hours. It also lingers nicely in towels and clothing.

Gilchrist&Soames London Body Lotion is nice. Its a great summer lotion - it adds just a kiss of hydration that leaves skin looking and feeling very smooth. The London Scent is a crowd pleaser, its very lightly and fresh. I wouldn't repurchase it, at least not for myself, though I think it could make a nice gift.
