NYX Rose Gold Infinite Shadow Stick Review+Swatches

NYX says "Infinitely awesome, this shadow stick glides on easily and stays put. Waterproof and smudgeproof, you can really make this look last and last without creasing, flaking or fading. Have fun with an assortment of shades that will really make a statement day or night." The Infinite Shadow Sticks are available in nine neutral shades, my review is for Rose Gold. These jumbo eye crayons contain 5.27 grams (.19 oz) and sell fo $9 each. NYX is proud to be cruelty free. This cream eyeshadow crayon was made in Germany.

I hate NYX Infinite Shadow Sticks' packaging. These jumbo eyeshadow crayons come in plastic, color matched tubes. The NYX logo and shade and product name are printed on the front of the pencil, a full ingredient list can be found on the back. This pencil does not twist up, you gotta sharpen this plastic pencil. I hate that! Its so hard to get a good point. Its really an unnecessary struggle. Packaging is not recyclable.
I am not a fan of NYX Infinite Shadow Sticks for several reasons. This cream shadow is on the drier side, so it tugs during application, causing uneven application. The drier consistency makes blending more difficult as well. NYX Infinite Shadow Sticks aren't particularly good bases for powder shadows, it doesn't grasp powders and impedes blending. Rose Gold's wear is less than satisfactory. Without primer, this cream shadow is a creasey mess in under three hours. Over a primer, I get about six hours of crease free wear from Rose Gold. NYX calls this cream shadow formula waterproof, but that's a dang lie. This product is very easy to remove, even with just water.
Rose Gold is an interesting shade, though I'm not really sure if its true to it's name. NYX calls this shade a "pearly rose gold." To me, this is more of a metallic apricot. There's just too much orange in this shade to call it a rose gold. There's really not pink in it at all. This cream shadow has medium color payoff that cannot be built up or sheered out.
I'm rarely let down by a NYX product, but I just don't like their Infinite Shadow Sticks. Packaging needs a redesign, if anything. I can't stand plastic pencils that need to be sharpened. This eyeshadow crayon has a dry formula that's hard to apply and blend. The lack of moisture doesn't stop this shadow from creasing. Rose Gold is a misleading name for this shade, its much more of an apricot shade. Sorry to say, but I don't have anything positive to say about NYX Infinite Shadow Stick in Rose Gold. Skip this.
