NYX Lollies Butter Lipstick Review+Swatches

NYX Butter Lipsticks feature a "unique texture" that "seems to melt onto the lips, giving full yet lightweight coverage with a luxurious satin finish." NYX offers 22 shades, today I'm writing about Lollies. Each Butter Lipstick contains .16 oz (4.5 grams) and costs about six bucks. NYX is proud to be cruelty free. This lipstick was made in Taiwan.

NYX Butter Lipsticks come in color matched plastic tubes. The NYX logo and product name are printed on the tube, along with a full ingredient list. The shade name and number can be found on the bottom of the tube. Product twists up easily, but the twist mechanism is weak - the lipstick falls right back down into the tube. The lipstick bullet also snapped off on the first use. In my opinion, the NYX Butter Lipsticks packaging looks and feels cheap. At least its recyclable.
NYX Butter Lipsticks have a thin but creamy texture that helps this lipstick apply smoothly. Lollies is lacking in the color payoff department; it needs two to three layers to build up nearly opaque color. This lipstick formula is quite moisturizing, more hydrating than the super disappointing Butter Balms. Lollies doesn't wear particularly well on me, I only get about an hour of wear, not considering transferring. NYX Butter Lipsticks have a light sweet scent and no noticeable flavor.
NYX calls Lollies a pink coral. In the tube and in my swatch, I'd call Lollies a light, neutral, peachy nude. On my lips, it shows up slightly lighter. Lollies has a silky satin finish. Personally, I find this shade too light, it makes me look washed out and kinda sick when I wear it on it's own. Lollies pairs nicely with the Butter Glosses in Apple Strudel and Peaches&Cream.
I didn't like NYX Butter Lipstick in Lollies. Color payoff isn't very strong - I need several layers to build up a good amount of color. The texture makes it comfortable to wear and apply, but it wears poorly. Lollies is a very light peachy nude that doesn't suit me. Packaging isn't very good quality, nor is as cute as it could be. I wouldn't recommend the NYX Butter Lipstick in Lollies, there are better in this lipstick line.
