Rimmel ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner Review

Rimmel's ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner features an "ultra thin felt tip liner to draw a super precise line! Intense colour lasts up to 24 hours. Waterproof and smudge-proof." This liquid eyeliner pen is available in just a single black shade. The ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner contains 1.1ml (.03 oz) and sells for around $6 at drugstores and major retailers. Rimmel is not cruelty free. This liquid liner was made in Germany.

Rimmel's ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner has plain but very functional packaging. This liquid liner comes in a black plastic pen. The ScandalEyes logo and product name, as well as a couple claims, are printed on the pen in white letters. Removing the cap reveals a very small, pointed, felt tip. The nib is fairly firm and inflexible, except for at the very tip, where you get a little bit of wiggle room. The felt tip is thoroughly saturated with product. The shape and size of this liner's tip makes it super easy to apply liner in any shape and width I please. Packaging is recyclable.
The packaging may be excellent, but the formula can't compare. This liquid liner applies smoothly, it rarely skips. This liner goes on opaque, laying down a moderately dark, black line with a matte finish. This liquid liner dries down very quickly. ScandalEyes Mirco Liner has below average wear and fails to live up to several of it's claims. Rimmel's liquid liner begins to fade after five to six hours. The ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner somehow manages to transfer onto both my brow bone and lower eyelid. To call this eyeliner 'smudge-proof' is a lie, this liner smears very easily. This liner is also not waterproof, in fact it removes quite easily.
Rimmel's ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner is disappointing. Rimmel has some amazing eyeliners, but this is not one of them. The ScandalEyes Micro Liner isn't a terrible product, its very easy to apply and the small tip allows for a variety of widths. This eyeliner isn't super dark to begin with, but it fades throughout the day. This eyeliner tends to smudge and is certainly not waterproof. I'm sure I'll reach for Rimmel's ScandalEyes Micro Eyeliner from time to time, but I won't repurchase it. nor do I recommend it.
