NYX Candy Buttons Butter Lipstick Review

NYX' brand new and super popular Butter Lipsticks feature a "unique texture" that "seems to melt onto the lips, giving full yet lightweight coverage with a luxurious satin finish." NYX offers 22 shades, this post is all about Candy Buttons. Each Butter Lipstick contains 4.5 grams (.16 oz) and sells for around $6. NYX is cruelty free. This lipstick was made in Taiwan.
NYX Butter Lipsticks come in color coordinated plastic tubes. The NYX logo and product name are written on the front of the tube. A full ingredient list is printed on the side of the tube. The shade name and number can be found on the bottom of the tube. All the white lettering has begun to rub off already. Product is a little difficult to twist up. Packaging looks and feels cheap to me. This lipstick tube is recyclable.
I love the NYX Butter Glosses but was really disappointed by the Butter Balms, so I was curious about the Butter Lipsticks. Turns out they're pretty decent! At first I found Candy Buttons a little waxy, but after working through that outer layer it turned out to be pretty creamy. This lipstick applies with ease and adds immediate moisture to the lips. NYX Butter Lipsticks feel more hydrating and soothing than their Butter Balms. I don't get a heck of a lot of wear from Candy Buttons - about two hours. Candy Buttons tends to settle into lip lines, but it does not feather. This buttery smooth lipstick transfers on to cups and straws. The Butter Lipsticks have a mildly sweet scent and no flavor.

Candy Buttons is a slightly pinky peach with a creamy satin finish. This lipstick has medium color payoff. My natural lip color pulls through pretty strongly, making Candy Buttons show up a little more coral-ly on me.
NYX Butter Lipstick in Candy Buttons is pretty good. Once you get past the waxy outer layer, this lipstick is lush, easy to apply, and comfy to wear. Candy Buttons is a pretty peach that leans a little coral on me. I've been wearing Candy Buttons pretty often throughout the month of April and I think I'll be keeping it on hand for the rest of spring too. These wallet friendly lipsticks are worth checking out!
