Bath&BodyWorks Velvet Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist Review

Bath&BodyWorks invites you to "savor every moment of this sweetly sumptuous blend of red velvet creme and golden plum laced with a swirl of sugared musk, pink jasmine, and wild strawberries. Too much is never enough!" Velvet Sugar is one of Bath&BodyWorks's newer scents, its available in nine different products, this review is for the Fine Fragrance Mist. Fine Fragrance Mists contain 236 ml (8 fl oz) and retail for $14 - I got mine for $5 during a sale! The Mini Fine Fragrance Mists contain 90ml (3 fl oz) and sell for $6, or 3/$10. Bath&BodyWorks is cruelty free. This product was made in the USA.

The Velvet Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist comes in a tall, round, clear plastic bottle. A red fish net pattern and small hearts adorn the bottle. A blue bow and the scent name are printed on the front of the bottle. Super girly and kinda tacky - I like it. Bath&BodyWorks likes to make a big deal about their "sophisticated pump", saying that it "gives great coverage", but it isn't special in any way, really. Packaging is recyclable.
Top Notes: Wild Strawberries, White Nectarine, Pear Blossom, Apple Nectar
Mid Notes: Pink Jasmine, Golden Plum, Red Velvet Creme, Dewy Honeysuckle, Freesia
Dry Notes: Golden Amber, Vanilla, Tolu Balsam, Caramel, Baileys Creme, Sugared Musk

Wow what a load of sugary sweet notes. Velvet Sugar isn't quite as saccharine as it sounds, but it is super sweet. On first spritz, Velvet Sugar seems to be mainly jasmine, strawberry, and freshly spun warm cotton candy. As this scent dries down, the sugary aspects recede and the lighter floral and fruit notes come forth. Velvet Sugar sits close to the skin and smells like a blend of apple, freesia, and nectarine with maybe a slight hint of carmel. It took me a while to figure out why I like Velvet Sugar so much, but I finally put my finger on it. This scent is pretty much a cross between Paris Amour and Forever Red - two of my favorite Bath&BodyWorks scents. Honestly, this is just a richer, heavier Paris Amour
Bath&BodyWorks says their Fine Fragrance Mists contain aloe that "nourishes skin for the lightest, most refreshing way to fragrance!" Honestly there isn't anything special about this body spray's formula. Velvet Sugar has decent longevity, about three hours, a little longer in my hair. For more staying power, be sure to layer Velvet Sugar with the matching shower gel and lotion.
I quite like Bath&BodyWorks Velvet Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist! The scent is sweet, lightly floral, not cloying or too syrupy. This fragrance is really quite similar to Paris Amour. I've been using this body spray very often, I think I'd like to pick up the shower gel as well. I think Velvet Sugar is worth a sniff next time you're in Bath&BodyWorks.
