BA Star Eyeshadow&Glitter Base Review

BA Star says their Eyeshadow&Glitter Base is "long lasting" and "sweat resistant", a "must in every cheer, dance, or stage makeup kit." This eyeshadow base contains 11ml (.37 fl oz) and retails for $8.75. I've received two of these primers from BA Star and BrandBacker for review purposes. I can't find any information on BA Star's animal testing policy. This eye primer was made in Taiwan. BA Star products are available through the brand's website.

BA Star's Eye Shadow&Glitter Base comes in a clear tube with a silver cap. The BA Star logo is printed on the front of the tube, and ingredient list and directions can be found on the back. All lettering is silver, and is easily wiped right off the tube. Twisting off the cap reveals a basic doe foot applicator.
The Eyeshadow&Glitter Base is a thin white primer that blends down to be clear. This eyelid primer goes on feeling like a moisturizer, but it becomes tacky as it dries down. BA Star's Eyeshadow&Glitter Base is great for boosting color payoff, but otherwise does nothing good for powder eyeshadow. This sticky primer causes blending problems, as well as longevity issues. Eyeshadows crease faster on me with this primer than they do without a primer at all. On the other hand, BA Star's Eyeshadow&Glitter Base is great for glitter! It helps loose glitters apply more opaquely, as well as preventing fallout through the day. Still, this base does not help product to last longer.

BA Star's Eyeshadow&Glitter Base is great for short term wear of glitter or eyeshadow. This primer boosts color payoff and glitter adhesion like no body's business. Unfortunately, the sticky moist formula causes product to crease quite quickly - under an hour on me. I don't think the average consumer should buy BA Star's Eyeshadow&Glitter Base. Makeup artist may love it for editorial purposes though. Would I repurchase this primer or crack into my second tube? No, probably not, but I wouldn't be tossing out this tube either - it has a limited but meaningful purpose in my arsenal of beauty products.
