Revlon Autumn Spice Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel Review

Revlon calls their new Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamels a "whole new way to experience color. Vibrant, shiny shades go on smoothly for flawless color then dry to light, irresistible fragrances." This isn't Revlon's first scented nail polish release - they put out a limited edition collection of scented lacquers two or three years ago. All 24 shades of Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel have been added to Revlon's permanent range. Each Parfumerie polish contains 11.7ml (.4 fl oz) and retails for around $6. Unfortunately, Revlon products are not cruelty free. This nail polish was made in the USA.

Packaging for Revlon's Parfumerie nail polishes is lovely and unique. These lacquers come in a square glass bottle topped with a small, round, black plastic cap. the product and shade name are printed on a plain white label affixed to the front of the bottle. The style of the bottle is cute and kinda fancy for a drugstore product. The brush is flat, stiff, and very narrow - even on my little nails it takes four brush strokes to apply a full coat. All packaging is recyclable.
The Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Autumn Spice has a good formula. The consistency is on the thin side of average. The first coat goes on sheer, but the second coat deliver fulls opacity. Autumn Spice dries pretty quickly, its dry to the touch in a little over a minute. Autumn Spice wears decently, it begins to chip on the third day of wear. This polish is a little difficult to remove, and it does tend to stain my nails slightly. Now, lets move on the scented aspect of Revlon's Parfumerie polishes. This polish smells like any other nail polish in the bottle and while still drying on the nail. Once dry, Autumn Spice has a very mild cinnamon fragrance that is only noticeable if you're directly sniffing your nails. Revlon claims that their Parfumerie polish's scent will last for one day, which is accurate. Applying a top coat will seal in and a neutralize the scent.
Autumn Spice has been getting a lot of hype and rightfully so - its gorgeous! Autumn Spice is a mahogany brown that's filled with burgundy and gold shimmer particles that give this lacquer a red duo-chromatic look. My only complaint about Autumn Spice is how dull the finish is. Revlon promised a shiny finish, but just hours after application Autumn Spice is dull and flat on the nails. Sure, that problem can be easily taken care of with a bit of top coat, but as I mentioned, that will seal the fragrance in.

I'm torn on Revlon's Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Autumn Spice. Packaging is great, I love the look of it. the formula is decent, it applies well and has average wear. The polish has a light, warm cinnamon scent. Autumn Spice is such a lovely deep brown-burgundy, its truly gorgeous, but the lackluster finish is pretty disappointing. I don't think I'll be trying any more Parfumerie polishes, but I'll continue to wear Autumn Spice from time to time. Revlon's Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamels are kinda gimmicky, but since the formula is decent, its a harmless gimmick, and the scent makes them fun to try. Pick one or two up if the colors appeal to you, but I don't think Revlon's Parfumerie lacquers are worth going out of your way to try.
