Rimmel Flush of Pearl Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch

Rimmel's Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch will "make up glow! Lightweight, ultra blendable mousse formula gives an instant touch of radiance and illuminates the skin. Wakes up skin with a healthy looking glow and long lasting flush of color." Finally, highlighters are making their way into the drugstore! Rimmel offers their Wake Me Up highlighters in four shades, I'm reviewing Flush of Pearl. Each Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch contains 14ml (.47 fl oz) and retails for around $5-6. I picked mine up at Target on clearance for $5AUD (this product has seemingly been discontinued in Australia). Rimmel is a sub-brand of Coty, a company that is not cruelty free. This liquid highlighter was made in Monaco.

The Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch comes in a small white squeeze tube with an orange twist cap. The product name is printed on the tube in orange letters. A product description can be found on the back of the tube. I don't feel like this style of packaging is ideal for a liquid highlighter, its easy to over dispense product. Packaging is recyclable.
[Unblended, partially blended]
Rimmel's Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch is like a whipped mousse in consistency. The light, airy texture makes this highlighter a cinch to a blend with fingers or a brush. I like to use Bdellium Tool's Bambu Fan Brush with this product. Its easy to go overboard with Flush of Pearl - it isn't a highlighter for the faint of heart. The liquid consistency imparts a hint of dewiness into the skin, but it also has a very glittery finish. A little goes a long way, so make sure to use only a tiny dab unless you're going for a disco ball effect. A great way to use Rimmel's Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch is to mix a little bit into your foundation for a touch of luminosity. This creamy highlighter is also great for use on the body.
[fully blended]
Flush of Pearl is a warm, peachy-champagne color. The base shade is only visible in heavy application. Blended out, Flush of Pearl appears mainly as small flecks of silver micro glitter. A barely noticeable peach tinge can be seen in some lights. The tone of this illuminator is somewhat similar to Benefit's Watt's Up?, but a littler peachier.
I don't love Rimmel's Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch, but I don't have anything negative to say about it. I just have other highlighters that I prefer. Its great to see highlighters available at the American drugstores now though, so kudos to Rimmel for that. I enjoy the consistency of Rimmel's Wake Me Up illuminators, they're light and easy to blend. The finish of Flush of Pearl is a little much in my opinion since it's both dewy and very shimmery. The value of this product is fantastic, $6 for a half ounce tube that'll last you for ages. If you like glittery highlighters you'll adore Rimmel's Flush of Pearl. Those who seek subtle luminosity need to look elsewhere. Personally, I wouldn't repurchase.
