Nuance by Salma Hayek Anti-Aging Super Cream

Nuance by Salma Hayek AM/PM Super Cream contains "Tepezcohuite to help tone, condition, and smooth skin. Borage oil protects skin against dryness. Vitamins A&E visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Parsley, and herb rich in vitamin C helps nourish the skin." The drugstore anti-aging moisturizer is available in two size options - .25 fl oz ($5) and 1.4 fl oz ($20). I received he small size jar from Free Beauty Events. Nuance by Salma Hayek products are paraben free and not tested on animals. This line is exclusively available at CVS and

This mini moisturizer comes in very attractive packaging though its kinda misleading. The black and white cardboard box appears to house a significantly larger jar than it really does. The outer packaging is nicely designed, the front of the box features an actual size imagine of the jar. Plenty of product information and a full ingredient list are printed on the box. Inside you'll find a tiny, clear plastic jar bearing the product na,e. The black screw on cap has some sort of twist and lock function, making it difficult to open. I'm not a fan of creams in jars for several reasons, so I'm not a fan of the Anti-Aging Super Cream packaging, pretty as it may be. This little jar is only about 2/3 full of product. I can't find information on if this jar is recyclable or not.
Salma Hayek got a lot of guts calling a product an "Anti Aging Super Cream". While I do see some beneficial ingredients on the list, this cream is far from a miracle product. I can see why some consumers may think this cream works wonders though. Nuance's AM/PM Anti-Aging Super Cream has a thick, balmy texture similar to Benefit's Total Moisture Cream. The minuscule amount of product almost seems justifiable - you barely have to use any of this rich, velvety moisturizer. Despite it's thickness, this cream sinks in quickly. Immediately, this cream provides a surge of moisture that plumps the skin (anti-aging trick #1). This moisturizer also gives the skin a gentle, soft focus, brightened appearance - I think this cream may contain a small amount of pigment. This cream blurs the appearance of pores and fine lines (anti-aging trick #2). These effects last a couple hours and in that time the skin really does look and feel improved. I can't say if this facial cream delivers actual results over long term use, as this little jar only offers about a week and a half's worth of product. Nuance's Anti-Aging Super Cream has a light, olive-ish scent.

My feelings regarding Nuance by Salma Hayek's AM/PM Anti-Aging Super Cream are pretty similar to how I felt about L'Oreal's Youth Code Day/Night Cream. In my opinion, there is no reason to sell just a quarter of an ounce of moisturizer at a time. I suppose that scams consumers into thinking this cream is more potent or something, but I think its just plain scummy of the brand. I like the packaging, its attractive, though misleading and hard to open. The Anti-Aging Super Cream has a lovely, rich consistency and it moisturizes nicely. It gives the appearance of younger skin at least for a few hours, but I can't say that it truly improves the complexion. I'll finish off my little jar of Nuance's moisturizer, but I wouldn't repurchase it. I don't recommend this anti-aging cream, unless you're looking for a short lived quick fix.
