Almay Intense I-Color Shimmer Kit Trio for Hazel Eyes Review+Swatches

Almay says "its time to let your eye shine. New eyeshadow trios contain light catching minerals to illuminate your eye color. Shimmering shades are expertly coordinated to help intensify your unique eye color. While our eye shaped compact allows to to create a mistake-proof look in just three easy steps. With Almay's Intense i-Color Shimmer Kit everyday is full of light." The Shimmer Kits are available in four shades, I'm reviewing the trio for hazel eyes. Almay's Intense i-Color trios contain 3.4g (.12 oz) and sell for around $7. I won this eyeshadow trio in a giveaway by JujuAllOver, who is wonderfully sweet and has a great photography blog. Almay products are not tested on animals. This eyeshadow trio was made in the USA.

Almay's Intense i-Color Kits have dull packaging. A white plastic palette with a clear flip lid, featuring the Almay logo and an eyelash design. A label on the back of the palette offers a tutorial. The shadows in Almay's Intense i-Color Shimmer Kit are laid out in an eye shape. You get double the amount of the eyelid shade than the other two. A sponge tip applicator is included with this trio. Packaging is recyclable.
Almay's Intense i-Color Shimmer Kit Eyeshadows are decent, though pretty much on par with other drugstore shadows. All these shadows are on the hard side and do not kick up any residual powder. Two of the three eyeshadows are nicely pigmented, with one pathetically under-pigmented shade weighing the trio down. None of Almay's eyeshadows cause fallout. Wear time is average - about six hours before moderate fading and creasing set in.
The eyelid shade in Almay's Intense i-Color Shimmer Kit for Hazel Eyes is incredible! A beautiful, deep, blacked green with a small amount of gold micro shimmer that gives the color a lot of dimension. This eyeshadow has a frosted finish. Color payoff is excellent, as is application and blendability. This beautiful green shade is similar to theBalm's Jealous Jordana. I'm extremely pleased with this eyeshadow, I have nothing negative to say.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the crease shade - its awful. The cream shade is a matte steel blue with mid-sized flecks of silver glitter that don't really adhere to the shadow, causing some very sparkly fallout. Pigmentation is very weak - the base shade is sheer. The texture of this shadow is very dry and difficult to blend.

Finally we have the sheer, shimmery white gold brow bone shade with a gilded reflex. Its a lovely shade that blends wonderfully. Personally, I find this shimmery shade a little too strong to use on the brow bone, but it looks very pretty on the lids.
Almay's Intense i-Color Shimmer Kit for Hazel Eyes has two great shades and one awful one. I really adore the deep green eyeshadow, that shade alone makes this trio worth buying. All together, the three eyeshadows can create a deep, jewel toned smokey eye. I think I'll continue to use this Almay trio from time to time, if only for that awesome green! I recommend this product if the colors appeal to you.
