ELF Wisteria Custom Eyeshadow Review + Swatches

ELF's Custom Eyeshadows are pan for shadows meant to be put in ELF's Custom Compacts. ELF calls the formula "luxuriously smooth and highly pigmented, the silky formula provides eyes with an awakened brightness for a long lasting wear. Choose your favorite colors that best compliment your style and insert them into the Custom Compact for a totally personalized palette!". Eighteen shades of Custom Eyeshadows are currently available, this review is for the shade Wisteria. Each Custom Eyeshadow sells for only a dollar. ELF is a vegan friendly, cruelty free brand. All ELF products are made in China. ELF products can be bought through the brand's website and at select drugstores and major retailers.

ELF Custom Eyeshadows come in standard sized round pans. Each pan has a magnet glued to the back, so these shadows will magnetize into most customizable palettes. The shade name and number can be found on the back of the pan. ELF's Custom Eyeshadows have an eye design etched into them, but it quickly disappears after just a few uses.
ELF Custom Eyeshadows in Wisteria is so soft that it crumbles under any pressure or at the smallest bump. The delicate formula results in fallout during application and extra powder kick up in the pan. Color payoff is ok, its pigmented yet sheer if you know what I mean. A good amount of color transfers from the pan to the brush to the eye, but there is a translucency to it.Wisteria is very blendable, perhaps overly so, it can blend away to nothing. Just like Golden Glow, Wisteria should be worn over a primer for significantly boosted color payoff. Wisteria has mixed wear. Whether you use a primer or not, Wisteria doesn't crease for 6-8 hours, but regardless of the base used, this eyeshadow fades after just a few hours.
Wisteria is pretty in the pan, but I feel like it doesn't flatter me. ELF's Wisteria is a light pastel lilac with a slight blue duochrome. Wisteria can be sheered out to a silvery lilac. The finish of this eyeshadow is very frosty. Frosty pastel. Stop and think about that for a moment. The combination of color and finish make for a very dated look.
I'm not loving ELF's Custom Eyeshadow in Wisteria. It isn't all bad, but its far too delicate, it shattered a bit more while I was writing this review. Pigmentation is ok, as is application. Wear is both impressive and pathetic at once. Wisteria is a soft, shimmery lilac - the color is pretty but not super wearable. I don't recommend this shade, there are better ones in the Custom Eyeshadow line.
