Clean&Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser Review

Clean&Clear recently expanded their line of Morning Burst products to include the Hydrating Facial Cleanser and Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. Clean&Clear says their newest cleanser will "wake your skin up with this invigorating foaming cleanser uniquely formulated with water, not oil, and contains a unique blend of cucumber and green mango extracts. Get a deep clean while refreshing your skin with an added touch of moisture. Won't clog pores." I first saw this cleanser featured on Musings of a Muse and set out on a quest to find it. I searched high and low (Ulta and Target) before finding it at Walmart. I paid $3.49 for my 8 fl oz (240ml) bottle. Clean&Clear is a subsidiary of Johnson&Johnson, a company that practices animal testing. Currently there is no information available about where this product is made. Clean&Clear is available at drugstores and mass retailers in over 45 countries.

Packaging for the Hydrating Facial Cleanser is the same as the rest of the Morning Burst line, it comes in a rounded rectangular plastic bottle with a turquoise pump. The pump twists to lock. The front label features the Clean&Clear logo, product name, and some short claims. The back label offers a description, directions, and a full ingredient list. This product's packaging is recyclable.

I've previously used and enjoyed the regular and Detoxifying Morning Burst Cleansers, so I had high hopes for the Hydrating Facial Cleanser, and those hopes were not dashed! It foams up into a very light lather that cleansers effectively and is easy to rinse off. This cleanser removes excess oil without leaving the skin feeling stripped. Quite the opposite actually, the Morning Burst Hydrating Cleanser leaves my skin feeling soft and lightly moisturized. The third ingredient is glycerin, and there are a handful of other beneficial ingredients, though they aren't nearly as high on the list, but they seem to really add a little bit of hydration to the skin without going overboard. Surprisingly, this cleanser removes most of my makeup - even mascara! Of course this cleanser, like the rest of the Morning Burst line, contains ~gently exfoliating Bursting Beads~ that do absolutely nothing. This face wash is also super bubbly in the bottle, which doesn't seem to serve any purpose but it definitely looks fun in the bottle. This cleanser is pretty heavily scented. Fragrance is a negative ingredient in skincare, but I gotta admit this cleanser smells good, very fruity with just a hint of cucumber.
I like Clean&Clear's Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser. It offers just a hint of hydrating, but it doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy, only soft and fresh. This cleanser is good for removing oil and makeup and any other icky stuff that may gather on your face throughout the day. Though I likely won't repurchase this face wash do to my addiction to trying new skincare, it'll remain part of my skincare routine this fall and winter. I recommend Clean&Clear's Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser to those with normal to moderately dry skin - those with severely dry skin should avoid it in favor of a cream or oil cleanser.
