Yes To Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream Review

Yes to Blueberries says that their Overnight Hydrating Cream is an "anti oxidant rich bedtime treat!". This moisturizer is "formulated with moisture retaining shea butter to help smooth and hydrate the skin, blueberries to give your skin a powerful dose of anti oxidant goodness while you sleep, and noni fruit to help smooth and calm your skin from the day's wear and tear". If you aren't familiar, Yes To is a cruelty free brand that incorporates organic fruits and vegetables into their hair and skincare products. Their Yes to Blueberries line focuses on brightening and anti aging. The Overnight Hydrating Cream is paraben free and 97% natural, and promises to improve skin's firmness, protect skin, diminish fine lines and nourish skin. I was sent this product for free by Free Beauty Events in exchange for promoting their monthly giveaway. The 1.7fl oz (50ml) bottle retails for a moderately expensive $19.99. I'm not sure whether or not this product is being discontinued; I see it on Ulta's website and I've seen it in several stores in the last week, but it also isn't on Yes To's website anymore (but then again, their whole new Yes to Grapefruit line isn't even up yet). Yes To products are made in America and Israel. Yes To products can be bought at most major retailers.
Yes To Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream, like most Yes To products, has really nice packaging. This moisturizer came in a royal blue cardboard box with the name of the product on the front, along with the Yes To Blueberries logo. The box is loaded with information on every side, in both English and French. The bottle is a round, recyclable, white plastic bottle with a royal blue label wrapped around it. The label contains a condensed form of all the information on the box. Removing the frosted blue cap reveals a convenient pump. It's easy to control  how much product you pump out, and the pump never clogs. My only complaint about the packaging is that the cap doesn't like to stay on.
Yes To Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream has a very different texture than what I expected. The name would imply that this is a cream product, thick and rich, right? No where near, its actually a very thin, borderline watery lotion. One pump is a enough for my whole face and neck. This product applies very strangely. The more you work this moisturizer into the skin, the thicker and more resistant to sinking it gets! Bizarre. This is far from a fast absorbing product, it can take up to 10 minutes for it to fully absorb, and even then my skin feels kinda greasy. Yes to Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream's residual greasiness makes it best suited for pre-bedtime application. I can't really describe the immediate effects of the moisturizer, but the next morning my skin still feels quite hydrated. Actually this cream causes me to be a little oily on my nose, giving me a few blocked pores and the occasional small pimple. Aside from the oily nose issue, I feel like this moisturizer has softened and maybe brightened my skin. I haven't noticed any anti-aging effects though. Maybe if I use it longer, but really it isn't a concern. On a personal level, I'm not disappointed by the lack of anti-aging effects, but from a review standpoint, this product isn't really living up to it's claims. Another dislike is the strong scent. It's hard to describe, kinda like metallic baby powder. Unpleasant, and it sits on the skin as long as the moisturizer it's self.
I'm on the fence about Yes To Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream. It isn't really a product suited to my skin type and maturity level, but I'm also unsure of how effective it is as an overall product. The texture isn't what I would expect and it's application is downright weird. I think it moisturizes well, but if you have combo to oily skin like I do it might be a bit too much. I haven't noticed any anti-aging benefits after three weeks of use, so if you're looking for a moisturizer that actively combats wrinkles and fine lines, Yes to Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream isn't the most effective option. I will give it credit for it's relatively natural ingredient list and attractive packaging though. I'll keep Yes to Blueberries Overnight Hydrating Cream around to help out with any dry skin I might have, but I won't repurchase it when I run out. To me, this product isn't worth $20. If this product piques your interest, grab it while you still can, in case it's being phased out.
